What does your screen name and avatar mean?

Post by BinDerSmokDat » Wed Mar 06, 2013 3:35 pm

Some screen names are really obvious, and others leave me scratching my head.
Ditto with avatar pics, sometimes I'm just baffled and other times they are too small to really make them out.

So chime in...

Screen name: "Been There Smok'd That" from my days on cigar forums. No, it has nothing to do with pot.

Avatar: The only Transformer that smokes a cigar, Sgt. Kup.

I bought my first Ural when I lived in Albuquerque. I signed up for SS in 2007 with the handle Albuquralque. When I moved to Colorado, I stayed with the geographical connotation in my new handle...Coluralado.

I have to give credit to Nightblues for my current avatar pic. I used to post everyday that I rode my Ural to work. Nightblues challenged me and said he didn't believe it because I never posted pics. My avatar is a pic of my rig by the pond we have where I work.

If you don't know who Harvey Mushman is...........you need to do some googling. :D
On a few other forums (such as ADVRider) where that screen name is taken I am Madeouttaglass. That name came from two things. It was first used on Corvetteforum where even though the car's bodies are now "plastic", everyone refers to them as fiber"glass". Also, most of my money comes from making industrial optics so really most everything I own was madeouttaglass.

My name is Dave, and my sailboat has bilge keels rather than a central keel. The first internet forums I was on were sailboat forums on Yahoo. The first motorcycle forum I joined was the Yahoo group Dneprheads, so my handle automatically followed me there. I kept it on other motorcycle forums for continuity.

My avatar is the Ukrainian Trizub, it's the symbol of Ukraine. I use it as an avatar because Dneprs were made in Ukraine.

This was my first foray into forums. It said I needed an email address to sign up. I didn't know if youse guys were commies or not, so I let Yahoo pick a name for me, just in case I needed to ditch this group. I put the 59 after it since it's the year I was born. It really means nothing.

The avatar represents my skills with things electrical, even though I have been zapped, bitten and shocked more than enough times that I should be able to glow in the dark...

On another note, I think that guy Coluralado should be forced to change his name. I mean really, have you tried to pronounce that as a word?!? He should be DarrUralel...ok, maybe not. :P

Seeings how you're older than me by a couple years, that should make you a couple years wiser! Notice I said "should".....

Scott,

You may be on to something. Maybe I should change it to Dural. That way ifn I ever move again, I don't have to come up with another cleverly devised geographical name like Albuquralque or Coluralado! :D
