Which way were you turning it? Photo implies anti-clockwise, by direction rod is bent.

I hope you didn't because that spindle has a lefthand thread :o
clockwise, been down this road before. Had to turn the bar around and bend it back :D It was compressing the suspension with a breaker bar and not loosening a bit. Last time it did this I coated axle with copper anti seize but didn't seem to work. May try moly this time.

I always use a good waterproof grease. It took me forever to u=get the rear axle out of my Buell the first time I needed to. It was frozen in the spacer and the more I turned the thing the more it spread the swingarm apart but did get free. A couple of big clamps and a lot of wood spacers finally saw it free.

IMO,
A spotlight as delivered with the spot lamp is fairly useless as it can't be used around other road users.....

Certainly there are better options but many of us have adjusted the spot light for road use, tightened it down, and left it on while on road without issue.

I guess it's a matter of what one considers acceptable. I'm not comfortable using spotlights, or floodlights as a headlight on public roads around other road users.

By changing it to a H4 headlight one can aim it correctly for maximum effectiveness, rather than at the ground.

Moved a couple of things around. First I yanked the set of LEDs off the front bumper of the tub, then poked some holes in the tub to mount them back again also cleaned up the rats nest of wiring that went with them. Next I moved the winch to the front bumper....still have to make some straps that will go from the winch mount back under the tub and tie in to the tub to aid in resisting the strain of winch when in operation.

Changed out my hand grips and filled the handle bars with lead shot (I had a spare dive weight laying around and figured I’d give it a try).

And nope. Just changed out from stock to these. My buddy just got an 04 BMW R1150R and it has these grips as stock. I loved them so much I ordered a set for Toothless. I picked up the bar ends a few weeks ago for a project that never happened. The bar ends did require some modification to work right.
