I get nothing but positive comments whenever, and wherever, folks approach me whilst the Ural is parked. It happens when I'm riding, too. I've received waves from guys as they cut their lawns. I'll get a thumbs up from drivers who pull alongside me and toot their horn to get my attention. Children smile and stare, always.

If the foregoing is a sustained trend, I doubt I'll ever cross paths with a "hater"...which is just something people say instead of working to change their own flaws.

The only H-D crowd that seem to spew off at the mouth are the "Credit Card Bikers"...they walk into the dealership, buy a brand new HD and load all the chrome they can on it, walk over to the clothing section and get suited up with everything down to H-D embroidered underwear, walk over to the jewelry section for a little H-D bling then slap a credit card down...Jump on her and drive on over to the local coffee shop, park and stand there on a 90 degree day in full leathers and a do-rag drinkin hot coffee waitin for some one to compliment their bike

That’s just too funny.............

I look forward to my first negative comment on a Ural. As I’m still in the “looking” phase, I can only relate to a negative interaction with a Harley guy out in Cody WY. We were both stopped for gas. He in his chaps, wife beater, and DOT do-rag, looked at me in head to toe gear, shook his head and started to laugh. I just kept my mouth shut. I doubt he had ridden out to WY dressed like that. I was on my way back from Deadhorse AK. 9,950 mi trip in 15 days. (FYI, I don’t plan on doing those same trips on my Ural, when I finally get one.)

Never had that sort of problem with people whom own different brands of motorcycles. In fact, the only issue I ever had was a guy who was critical of my "outdated" leather gear. Yup, BMW owner.

Welcome to the neighborhood!

Fortunately never had that either...just a few "club" guys interested in my bike a local HD dealer once...curiosity more than anything else.
