Anyone Ever Seen A Front Fender Rack

Post by Jimd1776 » Fri Jan 14, 2022 4:25 pm

Has anyone ever seen a front fender rack? Basically the Carrier or rack that is on the sidecar fender or behind the single seat on the fender placed on the front fender? Obviously certain cargo would obscure the headlight but it does have its uses. Has anyone seen this or has thoughts?

I have never seen it, but I can see where it would be do able, there are universal chrome racks available to be used on the rear fender of motorbikes, in place of the pillon seat. I think Big Bike Parts, also carried a rack meant for trike fenders, I had a couple on my Goldwing trike conversion. They were about 10" long by about 6 or 7 inches wide. There is no reason one could not be used on the front fender.

Cool thanks. I am getting my bike totally overhauled although it runs great and will be adding some custom touches.

Tangentially, Bubba Pratt has an ammo can mounted to the side of his Gear-Up's front fender. It's where he keeps his cigars.

Yes like that. The pic of the beige bike with black rack on the fender. Awesome thank you. I am picking up my bike today with many upgrades and customizations and wanted this aspect. Once I get her home I’ll gets some pics up. Thanks again.

I wonder if a bit of weight up there would help steering on snow? My tourist went through 4 inches of snow last year just fine as far as traction, but it steered like a barge in a high wind. I considered mounting my tool kit up there to see if it would help but was unsure if it would effect the handling on the road. This is my first experience with leading link front ends.

I think this rack is what Bigbikerrick referred to.

This is not mounted, just placed for a picture.

I do not think it would be a good idea for a couple of reasons.

Wouldn’t anything on there completely block the headlight and reduce your visibility? Can’t believe that would be entirely legal.

All that needs is a rack seat pad and some foot pegs and you got a 4 seater.

I like the look of it and am having the rack powder coated. The rack doesn’t weigh much so I don’t see a performance issue. Most of my riding would be in the day and the rack probably not used a whole lot so not worried about obscuring headlight. Apparently people have been putting a rack here so thanks for all the info.

Is this yours?

Perhaps it can be useful for a GoPro?

We are getting snow now, my evil plan is to bungie my tool bag on the front fender as close as I can to where it would ride on a rack and test it out tomorrow to see if it helps in steering. Unless of course one of you smarter fellas tells me its a bad idea. Mine is 1wd and I don't think I would ride it again in more than a couple of inches snow due to the front tire drifting. This is a wet heavy snow we are getting now so it should be a good test.
