For the first time in over four years my neutral light came on. I didn’t even know it worked

Mine too Dan, but mine has been working for 8 years, so I win, and I don't have a colon.

If only your shoulder was as reliable as your neutral light we would be travelling URAL stylee and I could irritate you the whole day long with my victories ... And lack of colon.

John's light of course works and he has several BMW's that also have functioning lights, so he may attempt to win, but he is too old to join in.

On the new one, if I press down on the reverse shifter it sometimes comes on. Retro? Works every time...has since new...go figure...shoot, Myrtle's even works in reverse! (it's supposed to newbies, old Ural)

Its not a competition, Mike, but yes my neutral light always works except for the neutral between 3rd and 4th. Dan,s shoulder just needs a zerk and a good moly and we would be on the road.

+1. The Neutral light on my 02 tourist has Always worked reliably. Even more visible in sunlight for the last 4 years - since changing all bulbs to LED.

Do I win anything for 17 years of reliable service (13 of which with original bulb). ???

Yup... several of us non-functionality neutral light owners kicked in and got you a gift: “Tell him what he has won, Johnny!”

17 years of reliable service! Absolutely! A gift of great magnificence will be heading your way, paid for by the 'light has always worked group' ...

Thank you very much for the AWARD Everyone. To show my gratitude - A TIP = I recommend you use LEDs for YOUR DASH LIGHTS They are much brighter - even in full direct sunlight. Although a Neutral light is not an absolute necessity - IT SURE IS A NICE CONVENIENCE.
(BTW: They say LEDs may last 9 years) I buy all mine on EBAY FROM CHINA - made in same factories as those with 1000% markup in USA Stores.
At most Auto Parts stores they'd be a special order - OUCH!
