Re: Front Fork Swap

+1 Greg, I've done most of those mods to my front brake, and and had Barnett make be a heavy 3.5mm cable and housing. My front brake now provides more that half of my braking (as it should). When I installed the Ural leading link on my Dnepr I used the BMW tapered bearings; the stem diameter was the...

Re: Front Fork Swap

My bike is a 1999 Ural 650 solo. Then you're not likely to want a Ural leading link. I imagine a Ural front disc could be added using later Ural parts, easier than BMW etc And SIGNIFICANTLY cheaper to accomplish. A quick check of eBay shows BMW telescopic forks running about $200-250, but that's on...

Re: What causes the popping?

I do know that when I installed a C5 Power Arc system in my '06 Ural engine, virtually ALL of the popping ceased; better ignition control, and a much higher output coil.
This on a 2006 Ural engine (in my Dnepr).

Re: What is going on with my bike.

I'm wondering if your final drive spit a tooth? everything would operate as normal until the broken off tooth piece got flipped up and caught between the pinion and the ring gear again. I wouldn't expect that the engine just cutting out momentarily would cause the bike to veer to the left... that's ...

Re: Sidecar questions

the drag bars might be an issue (unless you're built like Popeye) ... you're going to need a lot more leverage than on a solo. Try using www.searchtempest.com to locate a sidecar based on your zipcode. There's a '50 HD sidecar for sale in Manitou Beach, Michigan https://toledo.craigslist.org/mpo/d/1...

More information on Facebook (if you do such things). I'm also waiting, impatiently, for the forums to return.

Re: Backrest for cT 2/3 seat?

+1 on back rests "trapping" you on the bike in an accident. I had an incident about a year ago where I got dislodged from my solo saddle and my leg got trapped under the rear sidecar down-strut. (Barry, is that your rig with the backrest?) "Kidney belt" is a term I hadn't heard used for a long time;...

Re: PowerArc-ing Plug wire idea

I knew thaer was a reason I wound up with two.
Reminds me of old Jaguar joke; you need two, one to drive, while the other one is in the shop.
