TR15 valve stems are rubber.

Re: Replacement power distribution center

Factory wiring is built to a price point so it's barely adequate to power what it came with. I like additional doodads on their own separate circuits. If things go south trouble shooting is much easier. For aux fuse boxes I've had great results with BlueSeas boxes. +1 Circuits for high power access...

What are your road guys using for gravel, Sven?

Re: Mushy front brake lever...cured itself?

I think any unusual behavior from the front brake is a red-flag--not to be ignored. I'll guess the best case scenario is there's a tiny air bubble that 's moving around a bit. Maybe the worst case scenario is something going on with the pads--stuck or damaged. [Costs me nothing to guess.] I would st...

Re: Best Waterproof plugs for winch?

I use this combination to connect the sidecar fuse panel to the battery thru a 10 AWG feeder. Takes 8 AWG with available adapter for 6AWG if I read the ad correctly. Very well sealed. https://www.amazon.com/MinnKota-MKR-18-12V-Plug-Receptacle/dp/B001PTHKRQ/ref=s9_simh_gw_g200_i2_r?_encoding=UTF8&fpl...

Re: Green tonneau cover on camo Gear Up

I need to find some button headed studs to install so I have something to attach the extra 4 straps to. Might be overkill for your application but I use these guys on the nose of the hack to hold down cargo when touring. Easy to install with a couple of pop rivets. Same source has lots of other har...

Re: What did you do to your Ural today?

the gearbox oil was a tad silver colored. Not sure but I'm thinking you've got a trace of water in your oil. That isn't beer, is it? I did notice the gearbox fill plug had more swarf than the drain plug, is that normal? I think what you've got is Ok for nearly-new gears. I like to spread the accumu...
