Re: A good air cleaner. Finally

I am very interested in hearing about your results. Certainly looks nice in the pix. When I decided to upgrade the filter on my Retro, I looked at Donaldson and Dnepr and likely others. Didn't find anytbing that seemed to make good use of the available space. I was particularly interested in getting...

Re: Who installed one of those 825cc kits?

Call me skeptical if you like but 825cc is barely more than 10% greater than 749cc. Hard to believe that the torque increase would be very satisfying, considering the extra trouble and expense. True, I don't know nothin' about Urals but I have bored & stroked a 1300cc VW engine up to 2000cc. That wa...

Re: Battery Disconnect / Kill Switch ?

3. Positive or Ground Disconnect? - Any recommendations as to which might be better? I've used a larger switch on my trail truck using positive cut off. Don't know if the Ural is a weirder duck than I thought. For a change, Ural is standard automotive practice. Standard practice is positive disconn...

Re: Battery Disconnect / Kill Switch ?

You might want to include a suppressor diode just in case someone operates your new switch with the engine running. :gahhh:

Re: Please don't hate me.....

If you're buying new, you're paying the long price but you're also voting for the future success of your dealer. I regret that I bought from a dealer who subsequently went out of business. Ideally, I would have been patient enough to buy from one of the well-established dealers instead of opting for...

Re: share your stories about Ural reliability

Bought Retro used for demo rig at dealer in 2013. 900 km. Soon after: Kickstarter failed. Replaced pawl and pin. Cheap parts. Enjoyed rummaging around inside transmission. Easy peasy. Adjuster failed on rear shock. High tech welder at Sachs apparently had a bad day. Possibly related to repeated fast...

Re: Gas Tank Option

Not technically a replacement--
but with an electric pump this becomes the primary tank.

5 gallon capacity, foam-filled, easy fill up, increases stability when full, relatively easy & cheap to install.

Re: Advice on how to lock up URAL in front driveway?

Here's the cover I use under my carport. https://www.amazon.com/Dowco-26041-01-Guardian-Cover-Black/dp/B000GZLEZ4/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1480272297&sr=8-1&keywords=Dowco+26041-01 Even though the rig has spent many nights in hotel parking lots without a problem, I believe I'll add a disc lock to the ...

King Solomon would solve the problem by cutting the little bugger into 2 pieces.
Go figure. :?

Re: Ural riding me instead of me riding it

You definitely need to check the alignment. It's just toe-in and lean-out. In that order. Alignment instructions are in your owner's manual. In my manual, it's called "adjustment of sidecar installation." No manual? No problem! Get your manual here: http://imz-ural.com/owners-manuals.html Our comrad...

Uraling in DC

Ok, I admit it--I'm a ural video junkie. I love 'em all but I have to admit that they become predictable after a while. So I don't have much patience for long videos. I make an exception for this one. It's located on the streets of DC. My very first Ural experience was on the streets of Spok...

This article might help.

Riveting should be taught in schools.
You learn to pay attention to what you're doing.

Got an inventory report back right away.
But it's over 800 k so I'm not going to upload it.

Probably best for anyone interested to get the email version.
You will also need ordering info

Good luck.
