PZ-28's are copies of K-37's, so use that one.

Re: Craigslist find Dnepr K-650 $5950.00

It's an MT-11 made in the last death throe years of KMZ. (Note the two ridges on the valve covers.) It's not 20+ years old. It probably has 49km because it locked up. I've seen dozens of Dneprs from the 1980's onward with fewer than 100km that seized due to blocked oil galleries. Low miles on Urals ...

Re: 650 Engine

I might be seriously interested. I'm gonna try to remember to check with Gene tomorrow for a kick start only 650cc. I prefer one at the moment that I don't have to fix leaks on since I have an identical 650cc engine in the back yard that I just broke a cylinder on last week and a 750 flathead that n...

Re: New to the board with a Dnepr

From my perspective of laziness, it just seems like a lotta trouble to convert a 1WD MT-10 to 2WD MB-650 if you have all the major assemblies of the MB-650 on-hand. I'm not saying it ain't possible, but one could convert an MT-10 to an MB-650 without an MB-650 donor bike by adding a 2WD swingarm, ch...

Re: 1986 1wd with only 17kms?

Good looker but that is a pretty healthy price. A good museum piece to be sure. http://www.ebay.com/itm/221366305067?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT Nope. Because at the end of the day, it's still just a RPOS. Don't believe the hype. I've seen lots of Urals and Dneprs (mo...

Re: New to the board with a Dnepr

I think it's an MT-16 made in the death throe years of KMZ/Dnepr gussied up to look like an MB-650. I remember reading to be wary of the ones made in that era that had electric start because many had a cobbled up 720cc engine. Not sure how much of the e-start/720cc drive train is factory, how much i...

Re: Help Identify DNEPR

I'd say get a 6V dry cell like the one pictured above so you can at least play around with the bike and hear it run while the generator is being worked on. By the way, most of us have learnt the hard way that about 95% of the time you are better off doing your own wrenching on your bike: especially ...

Re: Help Identify DNEPR

Hard to tell. Is it 1WD or 2WD? It's a Dnepr MT series frame with a K-750 tank with the knee pad mounts ground off (or a Chinese CJ-750 tank), it has Kartec K-68 (not Pekar, like most). Negative ground. Hard to tell about the voltage. There's nothing wrong with the original 6V as long as you don't ...

Re: Can a Dneper wheel be used on a Ural?

Well, you never really know until you try it. I think the brake shoe to drum clearance is okay but the lip and goove rub kinda tight with a Dnepr wheel on a Ural hub. At least that's what I think I remember reading, but that may have been one individual's experience. Heck. You probably can't even gu...

Re: Dnepr ID & Help

It looks like a first generation, short-framed, K-750 (about 1958/59 to 1960/61) due to the split rear fender and bowed rear fender support/lift bars. And my eyeball says the frame is the short version. I'm not sure how to justify/quantify that: it just knows. The forks and gearbox aren't original. ...

Dave
But not the pinnacle of KMZ manufacturing...

That title'd probably go to the MB-650.
