I think you might be thinking of a different car ... the Viper is still in production.

Re: MPG

Fuelly 37.3 average MPG. My odometer (and yours too, probably) is 7% pessimistic according to my GPS so that calculates to an extra 2 MPG right there. My hack doesn't have the w/shield on but I do have a BIG w/shield for me. I usually don't go over 55 mph on highways but sometimes the ole girl sneak...

Re: Need prayers or happy thoughts....

John, my best thoughts are with you. I've recently gone through cancer surgery and chemo. It is what it is, and it ain't what it ain't. Hang in there! And keep us posted.

Re: Windshields

IIRC, the Plexiglass comes in 2 versions, one with short "lowers" and one with long lowers. I tried the short lowers first but I didn't like the way it attached to the forks which would have been on the paint. I got the long lower type and the mount is better IMO and the long lowers eliminate helme...

Re: Polaris Slingshot

I saw my first one on the road this week just outside Spokane. I had to stop and talk to the guy. Looked like fun.

Texas allows the Morgan so why not the Slingshot? Weird.

Re: Polaris Slingshot

States classify it as a m/cycle so in WA where I live I have to wear a helmet and have a m/cycle endorsement ... or a sidecar endorsement? ... or whatever.

Anyway, it looks fun!

Re: About those jets?

Read the "Best of How to" thread. Just throwing in jets won't cure your issue. Running such large jets (rich) and your exhaust mod (lean) would seem to indicate a methodical approach would be best. If you were to mark your throttle at the 1/4 & 3/4 point I bet you'd find 90% of the time you're in t...

Re: Odometer off

Your experience is normal. My 2011 speedometer is quite accurate. But the odometer is 7% pessimistic meaning that my GPS says I've gone 200 km my odometer says I've only gone 184 km. If everyone calculated their MPG according to GPS they'd improve their milage by approx 2 MPG. I wish Ural would make...

Re: Clutch and "lugging" new GU?

Lugging is not good, period. But what is lugging? With small throttle openings I shift into 4th at 30 mph in my neighborhood and in situations where I'm not needing to accelerate above that speed. If I am on my way to 55 or 60 mph then I will shift into 4th closer to 40 mph. At 30 mph in 4th the eng...
