Re: Question about 2015 FI

2014 owner here. For the right price, I'd buy it, but all things being equal, I'd rather have a 2013. So don't pay more for it than you would for a 2013 in comparable shape. Things that would make me second-guess a 2015: - practical joke powdercoat (it would have been better to ship raw metal) - cra...

Re: Has anyone used the M2Boxer EFI retrofit for 2014-2018 Urals?

That's a myth about the Electrojet needing "some RPM to fire". Try it yourself, pull the injector and/or spark plug and rotate the kickstarter. Fast or slow doesn't matter when it comes to generating a squirt and a spark. Remember, both the spark and the squirt are decisions made by the ECU. Hot or ...

Re: Has anyone used the M2Boxer EFI retrofit for 2014-2018 Urals?

Wow eastbloc, there has to be something quirky with your 14. My 14 M70 started and rode great the other day in 19 degree F weather. It hiccuped a couple times but never really stumbled. Before I changed the starter, it would die at least once for every cold weather start. Now no problem. My theory,...

What I can confirm as normal is that the original 2014 starter is a complete POS.

Re: Has anyone used the M2Boxer EFI retrofit for 2014-2018 Urals?

I certainly wouldn't label you. We all perceive things differently, your rig is a 2014 and mine is a 2018. Our ownership and perception experiences of the Electrojet system seem significantly different, so all I can say is I don't relate. I recognize the quirks and limitations of the Electrojet sys...

Re: Has anyone used the M2Boxer EFI retrofit for 2014-2018 Urals?

Having owned motorcycles with well-nigh perfect fuel injection, I can guess what I might be missing with the Keihins. I have made peace with the ElectroJet injection on my GU, though. It does function better than the gloomsters would have us believe. I'd love to try someone else's Electrojet-powere...

Re: Has anyone used the M2Boxer EFI retrofit for 2014-2018 Urals?

Hey Barry - I'm still of the opinion half the people that post on this board don't have bikes, many pretend, and their anger turns into nonsense about what other people are doing. That would truly be puzzling. I suppose stranger things have happened, but why would anyone come here and pretend to ha...

Re: URAL/Dnepr 650/750cc EFI full kit

I'm waiting to hear back from Artsemi on how to pay, but two kits (2013 and 2018) comes to about $2,000 with shipping. Warranty on my 2018 doesn't expire for a couple months, but shipping from Russia tends to take several weeks anyway. The kit appears fairly straightforward, the Megasquirt has good...

Re: URAL/Dnepr 650/750cc EFI full kit

M2boxer isn’t manufacturing anything though, they’re just assembling this kit from off the shelf parts, which are presumably mass produced somewhere.

My point is more that it’s embarrassing that a hobbyist outfit can make something that works better than IMWA themselves.

Re: URAL/Dnepr 650/750cc EFI full kit

I'd wager it's a matter of scale, and of a vendor's willingness and/or ability to accommodate IMWA's requirements regarding EPA certification, production and delivery schedules, and a host of other things that can't be easily dismissed with a single inquiry. I actually think the EPA certification h...

If these reports are accurate, they beg the question why Ilya has struggled to get a system together that works this well.

Re: Oxford Heated Grips Style Choice ? Others?

The Oxford heated grips come with a multi position control with 5 (I think) heat positions. It also senses when there is a drop in power, as when the ignition is switched off, and shuts down the grips. I run them thru a FuzeBlock with a relay so they are on a switched circuit. Belt and suspenders. ...
