I ran 32 psi on the front and hack and 40 psi on the rear. I could've stretched the front for another 1 or maybe 2k, but with snow season here, I prefer to be able to steer.

I'm just funny that way.

16,000 kms on front tire, woo-hoo!

My original Uralshina front tire has finally worn out, so a buddy and I replaced it today. Not bad, four years and 16,000 kms and stayed on long enough to watch me learn to fly the chair, to get competent at riding on dirt, to learn how to aggressively corner, to see much of Orygun as well as poking...

Hoax. Another board I'm on when into mind-numbing detail and deconstruction; she posted on the board a few times trying to explain away discrepancies, but soon disappeared. I think given the hyperanalysis some of the folks over at sport-touring.net several people there eitther work for the CIA, NSA,...

Not too much on the Ural this year, either 3,000 or 4,000 kms.

Lots more miles on the KLR and the Guzzi.

I'll have to remember to post a pic this wknd so I can do the contest for 2009.

Still my plucky Rooskie remains one of my favorite rides, ever.

I've got to admit the tractor seat looks the best. I've cracked the mounting plate once already, though. I've finagled a benchseat off my buddy's '06 Gear Up and will whomp that on my '04 Tourist this week and give it a try. I've off-roaded the Tourist, but admittedly, it's been nothing more than tw...

Oh boy, it's snowing in Central Orygun

Lots of white stuff falling at the moment, some as flakes and some as sleet. In any event, hope to get a Ural sleigh ride in tomorrow after the gift-opening frenzy.

Merry Christmas to all!

Yep, I was at Gulf Coast. Also hit MPH Cycles as well as Gulf Coast BMW and Mancuso H-D, whose finance director has an '08 Retro.

Good to know if I can get enough coin together I could order a GU with a benchseat. It's amazing how much better the stock benchseats have become in the last four years.

Hey, good to see ya! Wonder if Yankee Dog from stn is here as well?

Oh, and I am Baxter's driver over on Russian Iron, but seeing as every other motorcycle forum has me as sagerat, I thought I'd stick with that screen name here.

No benchseat on the new Gear Ups?

I was killing time while traveling out of town and went to the Ural dealer in Houston to look at the '08 models. The benchseat on the red Tourist was heavenly, but I was surprised to see the Gear Up was two tractor seats. The salesman said no benchseats for the Gear Ups. Is that true? That would be ...

Greetings from Central Orygun; '04 Tourist owner checking in

Hello, Finally got around to registering here. I've been happily puttering around on my '04 Tourist for four years and 16,000 kms. Heck it took me that long to work up the nerve to drill the hack and hang a fuel canister off the side, so I'm not the world's fastest at much, obviously. Anyway, I have...
