How do you jack up the rig?

How do you jack up the rig?

I don't have a center lift. I have a floor jack. Can you put a piece of plywood under the engine case and jack away, or does that break the Russian metal?

I've ridden my 2004 Ural for a grand total of 14kms and thought I would post that I have, as of yet, had no breakdowns or repairs needed. But then I went out to the garage to see about the oil seepage you all talk about and while I'm looking underneath, I see the rear brake lever return spring just ...

LESSON 1. Read the yellow book, read Hal Kendall's books, checked the steering head components and the big nut under the triple tree head plate and I think the bottom line is what Ken says: I just shouldn't do that (shake the handlebars). LESSON 2 Thanks for the clutch/kick start thing...I couldn't ...

American children should be taught to say two things in EVERY language.

"Where's the bathroom?"

and

"How do you get to the American Embassy?"

That about covers all situations, I believe.

Oh yeah- I forgot to mention that...The front tire was exactly at 32psi. The hack was at 28psi and the pusher at 38psi. I filled 'em to 32/32/40. BTW, I used the Russian tire pump and found that ten pumps = 2lbs of pressure. ...maybe that's written somewhere. This forum is awesome! So far it has kep...

As Kermitski said, above 30mph it doesn't shake. Under 30 mph it will shake if I give it a good shake to get it started. But I can stop the shake by grabbing on real tight. Have you ever tried to shake your bars while riding? Let me know what happens on your rig and get back to me... Sometimes, at l...

Mine is a new-to-me 2004 Patrol... After reading this post, I shift 1-2 at 10-12 mph and it slides into gear reeeeal smooth, with no clunk at all. Much higher and I get a clunk into gear. Now this seems like a bit too soon to shift if someone was directly behind me (like pulling out when the light t...

Is the headshake normal???

I got my first Ural- a 2004 Patrol! Joined the site and this is my first post. It seems that at almost any speed, I can shake the handlebars a little and it will give me monster 'headshake'. I can, however, just grab on and make it stop. Is this normal behavior? I haven't gone over about 30MPH yet.....
