Re: Pretty 1966 Ural

I'm not sure I've ever seen a Ural in white. I've always like /2-7 BMW rigs in white. Makes me think Ural might be missing the boat. Have they ever offered a gloss white rig?. Absolutely they have offered gloss white and think they still do. Attached is the photo of my white 08 Patrol being picked ...

Re: Where did the Ural design come from ?

BMW did not invent the boxer engine which was designed and invented in 1893 by Carl Benz way before BMW used its design in their bikes.

Re: How much does a sidecar monkey reduce gas milage?

My monkey doesn't drink or lower the gas mileage but sure gets a lot of laughs when placed in the sidecar.

Re: All steel, hard as nails utilitarian military motorcycle.

Your splitting hairs. The amber reflector on the right side of the sidecar if that is the one your referring to on Craig's list is in the same spot as the one with the aircraft behind it. The one I'm sitting in at the Javits show seems slightly more forward but might be a different production date. ...

Re: All steel, hard as nails utilitarian military motorcycle.

Think the seller is on the forum. I almost bought a Gobi for myself which is me sitting in the sidecar when I did the Javits show in NY for Extreme machines. The photo which he posted I believe is the same bike was taken on LI with the jet plane in the background.

Re: eBay find - non-running Dnepr in CT - back for round #2 on eBay

Too much money. I sold my 1994 DNEPR MT16 for $1,500.00 in 2009 which is now running around in Kansas and was in much better condition. First photo is when I bought it and the second is with the new owner who sent me a pic. :)

Re: R71 Replica

@ biker The majority of the bike photos you have posted are of the official military R12 bikes. Please prove your point by posting as many R71 I'm not trying to prove anything nor am I saying that the photos I posted are all r71's. As I stated originally there is a lot of misinformation as to what ...

Re: R71 Replica

I was alive at the start of WWII but all I can say is I wouldn't consider riding a bike back then in combat to be enjoyable or fun. :( The motorcycle replaced the cavalry which was part of WWI. My father was in WWI in the cavalry riding lead team on a Caisson in France towing a 75MM around. Sitting ...

Re: R71 Replica

If one clicks into Google BMWr71 or any model for that matter images will show up. Then click more images and then plenty will come up . I just posted a few but they are not reenactment shots but ones taken during WWII. I wonder if the last one has water in the canteen or that is BEER but apparently...

Re: R71 Replica

Replica OK but not necessarily a BMW. There is so much miss information out there it isn't funny. Nice looking bike and very clean but don't know that it is truly an r71. Aside from the Germans the Russians built them and Changjiang made replicas of them. The fact that the engine has been changed as...

Re: New Ural Owner

Depends on your weight and the roads you are riding on. You don't need to raise the bike up to adjust the shocks and I have mine set one up from the softest position.
