Re: Left cylinder is dead????

Had that problem on the R80GS. Plug wire sometimes made good contact and sometimes not. Issue was up in the coil.

Forget what the fix was.

Re: Oil Leak Between Gearbox & Engine

If you have to pull that flywheel, use heat on it with the puller.

Sometimes it only gives a hair but it gets better all the time.

Some judicious hammering may help along with the heat.

Re: Left cylinder is dead????

Agreed on all of the above. Add in a plug swap. Rare but they can malfunction under pressure.

Re: My Peterbilt, RV Hauler is now finished.

You just need to get some straps a pulley block and hook on those overhead lines.

Lift it up and drive out from under!

And it truly is a nice rig. Certainly rivals the KW with the Airstream built onto the back!

Same questions, I think I am going with Terra Cotta (orange in my book) for visibility but it sure looks nice.

Good job on the translation work. Agreed sad in many ways and we best we can do is hope for better times for Russia.

I don' know that this was posted but I thought it was an interesting read.

Re: Strange ODBII readings at speed...

Yep. Better term than tolerance would be parameters, allowed variance, nominal. One problem with electronics is they can give us such precise data (down to tenths of a degree) , we loose sight of its not necessarily relevance/important to anything in the real world and its 20 and 30 degree temps dif...

Re: 765cc vs 825cc

I see you are a diesel fan and soon to be diesel Ural rider I would say that could apply to me (Ural is more 8 months off) , but I would put it that diesels have a place and they can work better in those applications. 15 L engine (and its a bit dated now) getting 755 hp (standby power ala hot rod a...

Re: Timing Cap/Cover Venting and Cooling Mods

I concur with Van, the plastic cover solved the problem of the spark jumping from the coil to the cover if it dissipated heat that was a side benefit not it’s main purpose. Plastic may have the side affect on not conducting the case heat to around the system. Not likely to have a major benefit. Get...

Welcome.

Me, I just feel older than dirt. I think the Ural tends/lends more (suits) to older guys, not that there arn't young whipper snapper enthusiasts.

Re: Where did the Ural design come from ?

Germany owed boatloads of money to Russia. At the time, Russia could see the writing on the wall and could see the war coming. That does not sound right. Russia was not part of WWI reparations, they surrendered to German and were not in the fight (and no shame, Germans beat them badly) Question: Th...

I never started FB. My wife did, she then asked me to save her form it (killed her account)

Nothing more than an electronic social disease (ESD feel free to use it, maybe ETD is better)) , I don't need any more drama than life holds for me.
