Re: Retired and 2019 cT Next!

That would be fun. Years back my wife and I went across the desert to Boise? Out there it was all marked no camping, private property, we wound up driving way late to get to John Day. Up in AK you can pull into any gravel pit (known in the family as gravel pit camping - better than campgrounds, open...

Re: What did you do ON your Ural today?

I went and saw the Spruce Goose Air Museum.

that place is fantastic. Entry is a bit steep but a once in a lifetime is well worth it

Re: Retired and 2019 cT Next!

Thank you, I get fully now what people say about the first day, variation of shock and awe. Up early, flight down, middle or Portland and working my way out, totally trashed when I got to McMinnville. Good decision to make it only that far (well the Air Museum was here and...) I was more than ready ...

Re: Motorcycle Insurance

I had Markel when my state made it mandatory and that is who I picked up. $244 for the coverage I have, it meets state requirements, comprehensive, has passenger (required). they know cycles and no issues. Come winter I will see about the reduced riding discount but just needed to get it up and goin...

Re: 2019 CT

Congrats; the lack of an onboard spare and a luggage rack such as I had on my '04 Tourist and now have on my '12 GU has always kept me from the cT. Still, I could see a fuelie cT in my future, but I'd add on a luggage rack and a spare. Especially since on the GUs the spare is now interchangeable wi...

Re: Anticipating New 2019 Ural 2WD

Being "somewhat of a hermit" isn't all bad, in my humble opinion. One has much less controversy in their life and, as I get older and older, I find that it isn't a bad thing! Be safe I tend to be asocial myself (not anti social) . I am working on that as I see the UDF looming (shoot I did the same ...

Well you are right in the Iron Triangle.

Heindel in Ohio probably happy to talk to you and get it working and setup, Ural Pittsburgh ditto.

Re: Please help a stupid man

LMO: Good catch , my mistake on the S and I. I had to go look at my old spare and Ohm it out. Its been too long since I did one! The ground is connected to the bracket for the S coil no the I terminal. I have my old books so I can refer back to that stuff, good idea to keep em for sure. side note: I...

Re: 2019 CT

I took what I always liked doing and looked at the choices and the cT was clear one for me. Given the back situation I don't belong where I have to heave and ho and struggle. Done that when I was younger, couple of boxes of T shirts (Broncos) - it was fun at the time but ..... Still can see the GU a...

Re: Toe heel shifter....

I figure on doing what you said. See how it plays out. I never had floorboard setup, all were just the toe shifter off the foot peg. The old Honda 90s has a dual type, but it was on the same plane. Of course you took that thing off road and the first thing it did was bend the front part. Lost a fing...

Re: Retired and 2019 cT Next!

I can certainly come to Bellingham is I know a day or two ahead. Would like to see your new rig, meet you and have a visit/meal/beverage. I understand about the regrets, but good memories, hopefully, negate some of the regrets. I have the number in my travel book will call and we will work a meetin...

Re: Retired and 2019 cT Next!

Congrats! Curious, you gonna ride it to Anchorage or take the ferry from WA to Juneau via the inside passage? HIGHLY recommended! You can get a local ferry from Juneau to Skagway or Haines to hook you back up with the AK road system. Absolutely gorgeous boat trip and quick too. By ferry it's like 3...

Re: WHat would YOU pick?

I was madly in love with my 2013 Gaucho Rambler, but this 2018 is like a completely new animal! If the 2018 works for you and you are happy with its get up and go, then the 4 grand saved is not bad. Some awfully good pricing I am seeing, GU is listed at 17K? I would suggest you ride the cT just to ...
