Re: Vodka Can?

Kinda a hijack, but FYI, the low fuel sensor on the 2016 was prone to failure. Carrying extra fuel isn't a bad idea. I believe there is a retrofit that replaces the optical sensor with a reed sensor to increase reliability of the low fuel indicator light. 2019 is totally reliable for which I am gra...

Re: Vodka Can?

Considering Russian metallurgy and construction I'd pass on water.
My 2019 has some kind of coating in it.

Re: Vodka Can?

My brother drained some red fluid out of something when I was like 14 and put it in the fridge (no memory of why)

My Mom comes home, thinks is Cranberry juice :beerchug: and

So yea I agree on the labeling.

Re: 2019 Fuel Injection Hiccups Cold

I haven't driven a modern FI injected vehicle that does what the Ural is doing. Letting it warm up clearly is a work around and I tend to do so and viable so I am not unhappy. Think its worth noting for others as well as some pondering. Back in 1995 I got to test the newest Ford Diesel after a night...

Happy Thanksgiving All

I am grateful, I managed to quit work years before I thought I would and I have a Ural that is doing all I hoped it would.

Family overall is doing well with the usual ups and downs of life.

Clutch should not be making that noise.

Re: Vodka Can?

A labeled fuel can is required to have a anti flame back draft system in it (to stop idiots from pouring gas on a fire I assume and blowing themselves up which to me would be good riddance to bad DNA in the gene pool) That is why the new fuel jugs have that impossible to activate setup. Fortunately ...

Re: 2019 Fuel Injection Hiccups Cold

Could be TB's icing, pressure drop across the throttles causes temp drop. I doubt it for two reasons. Its there at almost all temperatures under about 70 (guessing) to some degree. We have Methanol added to the fuel up here (10%) for emissions reasons but it also is an anti ice (which is funny as t...

Re: 2019 Fuel Injection Hiccups Cold

A bit mixed. In more normal temps it seems to take 2-3 minutes of idling to get through it. Mostly I am inclined to not worry about it, but I think it should be fed into the Ural system to look at as well. I would like to get the idle setup higher as well, rather than 1000 it idles at a low of 880-9...

Re: Trunk Latch Breaking Key

I am loving the fix. Handle stays where its supposed to now as well. Yea I get they get stolen, I would love to have the steering head lock you have but its not there. Less chance in someplace like Anchorage where they are looking for valuable stuff like snow machines! Heck they even have stolen bac...

Re: what is meant by refreshing a starter

Jvan: If you could go into your profile and list your rig ID as well as where you are, always helpful to get the picture of someone machine and region. For example, rust would not be an issue in Arizona but Louisiana would be a bid factor. If you need help PM me and will walk you through it. Some of...

Re: what is meant by refreshing a starter

Quick story, an elderly gentleman literally chased me down to tell me that after WW2 there was no gas to be had in the ukraine so he ran one of these on kerosene cut with naptha. The more I learn about this machine the more impressed I am with it. See you on the road my friend Up into after WWII, m...

Re: New to me 2011 Patrol, still the same bad luck.....

That was just the beginning. One new engine, 2 throttle bodies and numerous bits and parts later....one break down after another. That bike left me stranded more times than ide like to admit. Like I said, those that know me know the story. It was cursed..... With that kind of stuff coming out it sh...

Re: 2019 Fuel Injection Hiccups Cold

-20 was not unusual in the past so 4 deg is quite nice by comparison. Just a matter of layers.

Ideally no more than 20 so you do't get lush.
