Re: Vladimir Putin drives the presidential Ural

I had one guy that was hostile to Putin (well I am to) - I told him the money went to the poor schmuck in Western Siberia, he was ok with that.

Oh to have a Javlin. Solve a lot of problems for both sides.

Re: Just put a deposit down on a 2020 CT!

How is the CT in the snow? Not much up here, but might feel like adventuring out sometime. I picked up in Portland June 12 (11?) - so snow fun is a few months away. Its only seen glaciers from a distance so far. Look in the Rides section for the Portland to Anchorage via Bellingham Via Air Museum. ...

Re: Just put a deposit down on a 2020 CT!

Oh lord are you in for a big awakening. Pay for it and ship it directly to me in AK and I will deal with it! Ok, I have a 2019 cT. I went with Spare Tire, the tire rack and the Jerry Can (AK can have some long 150 mile stretch of no fuel) Love it overall. What color? This far in advance you can orde...

Re: 2019 cT With Trace of Water in FD

I drained it this afternoon, you can see the swarf, keeping in mind its the second drain in 2000 miles. About 1250 on this fluid. You can see the venting. None in the first 750 miles. Fluid looks in very poor condition for very new - I saved it in a clean sample jar, will work on pictures. The diese...

Re: I got water in my gas

Heat as in Alcohol not a torch for crying out loud.

My Nighthawk 700 S had water in the tank. Got into a seam and I wound up with Aircraft tank sealant to stop the rust.

So you want to get it all out.

Re: For all you Seafoam fans (including me)

You are not on the far edge of Voodo Science ! A good place to let others with lot of money and or fewer brains play in. Ever see that thing where they run the engine without oil? What it is, Chlorine based oil. Yep, you can run a long time (in the meantime the chlorine is corroding your shell beari...

Re: Final Drive leaking from plastic capped nut?

Did they have a combo Dipstick Vent Cap in that era ?

If so its better than the new ones as it will vent high not low (mine has trapped water in it)

If its the vent then it indicates the FD is overfull or hot. Unscrew the nut and check the dipstick.

Re: How to make a 2017 and up tachometer functional.

I am going to get the wiring diagram blown up and start labeling wires on it with the colors. I hate using a magnify glass to look at one of these, I have bi-focal and that should be good enough (far better than nothing and blow up printers are lovely devices) - good to have the diagram in the book.

Re: How to make a 2017 and up tachometer functional.

I am going to launch into it myself. My same take, make sure its sealed, corrosion in wires is nothing to mess with. Once it gets going it will get back into it an amazing distance.

Re: 2019 cT With Trace of Water in FD

Last rain I saw was 4 weeks ago, had a lot of hot long day runs since then. Still have to drain the FD as it should not be venting and leaving oil and dirt trails either. I will save the fluid, possible they got the wrong fluid in there at the fluids change in BHam. Also don't know fluid condition a...

Re: I got water in my gas

No, Harleys drivers are Knuckle head, you are Ivan Head (grin) Check the float bowls. That is your first clue as to how bad. Full of water and you are sunk (somewhat) A bit, ok, you can repeat a few times and clean out. But, remember, you can never get it ALL out unless you drain the tank and purge ...

Yep, been there done that. Bless float bowls and why did they ever get rid of the glass sump jars on cars.

Really need a mini version on the FI.

Re: What Year?

Looks can be deceiving. I had a call out to the facility around 6 pm. Nice night, I will take the cycle. So I roll up, walk in with my Leathers on and the guy who called looks at me and "your are a cycle ride"? Yep. What kind of Bike? I point? He shakes his head and said, I would not have guessed, y...

2019 cT With Trace of Water in FD

Casing 1 (1).JPG Casing 2.JPG Drain Plug.JPG What caught my attention was the dirt build up on the lower half, visually you can see the oil trail from the vent cap down the back where it pick up road dirt. None of that in the first 800 miles, only after the FD (and other fluids) were changed. So, I...
