Re: Trunk Latch Breaking Key

Who knew? Thanks for the link. I was trying to figure out how that worked, interesting. Not a clue anyone would make one like that setup.

Too many years of thawing them out from ice and snow on gates and diesel tank access bu in the right climate it would be great.

Re: Pedal Power - Bikes, lets see them!

A fun ride before I couldn't ride it anymore ... ;-{ http://www.brainfartz.com/images/Motorcycles/radrover-trestle-park.jpg Fat tire, so it was like a Ural when it came to handling snow. And yes ... it's an eBike, so I only had to pedal as much as I wanted to. Either way, perfect for a morning ride...

Re: 2019 Gear Up 300 Service Report

I got this at NAPA, keep it in the boot, cap on both ends so no oil leaks out and it keeps the dirt out.

Outlet is small enough to fit in the holes for the fill on Engine, Trany and FD.

Re: Getting Ready for Winter and OPS

We had 25 this morning, couple of inches on the ground and light snow. Off I went to visit some contractor folks I had worked with. 5 -6 miles each way. Good trip and more in tune with what it can do. This time there was windrows of snow between lanes and in lanes. While directionaly it moved around...

Ahh, no studs and I can see your application is not worth it. Some weird winters for us and I am pondering that as well but as we speak the warm temps and rain are gone, its snowing and looking like a Ural mission day :D I used to pedal my bicycle to work (11 miles) for jsu the same reason yo mentio...

Re: 2019 Gear Up 300 Service Report

I give up. You guys cannot resist the temptation to argue everything for no damn reason at all. The OP stated he used Rotella 6T as stated in the factory manual. I copied the actual page and stated that it actually said MOTUL 4T. But you are still posting :o (my attempt at humor) Ok, we aren't meas...

Re: 3 Winch Battle: Maasdam, Warn Drill, HF ATV!!!

Drills are not worth having overhauled. You can get a drill and two battery package low cost.

What would be a good idea is a 20 volt Dewalt with 5 AH batts and an inverter in the side care. If one batt is low you can charge it and keep working.

That 2011 is Impressive mileage let alone a Ural

I have had no battery charging light, idle was up around 1150 until I got down the road a mile to the first light.

Re: Instrument Panel Shroud Removal & EFI Light.

I ran into the same thing for different reasons and the only possible I saw was a ball head hex, which I don't have. You may find its more than bulbs, LEDs last forever so to have them go is odd. I pulled the clamps. Annoying but not anything problem wise and the pop back into place. I got a set of ...

And be ready for $1500 more into it as a kind of worst case.

Redmond is the corporate headquarters and worst case a rebuilt engine (not sure what they do about trany) is to be kept in mind.

Re: OK so I'm an idjuit - dead battery

Good attitude and hope its a done deal soon. I have done a bit of winter riding on the Ural and it is a hoot. I got the Grip Studs and while costly they work a treat. As mine is a cT I did not do the side car tire, not sure its needed for a GU either, but here is the pattern that works good for me i...

Re: Seeking advice for buying my first Ural

Have you bought a motorcycle before? I would see about a reliable Ural rider in your area. There are a number who are on the group so will see if they chime in. My first cycle I took my very experience brother with me, had him ride it first. The owner clearly was in distress selling it but he had a ...

Re: 2019 Gear Up 300 Service Report

I got a seal on both ends funnel that gets you to the locations.

Add a bit at a time and check the dipstick.

Likely your FD will spew now and you may want to pull some out when it does or let it go and seek its own level.

Due to the heat in the FD I would run synthetic gear lube.

Re: 2019 Gear Up 300 Service Report

I don’t know what 2019 manual you are reading! Here is the actual page. You can get the manual from the Ural website, ural.com Nowhere is Rotella (a Diesel engine oil) recommended. Rotella's additive package contains a lot of magnesium-based detergents which are typically not recommended for gasoli...
