Re: 2019 cT With Trace of Water in FD

Here's a nice clean setup. https://sovietsteeds.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=32422 Thank you, was going to aske about the cap on the vent. I won't do water crossings but I would like to see the condition of the oil without draining it. That should let me dip it with a screwdriver. The dipstick does n...

Re: 2019 cT With Trace of Water in FD
Not sure what's going on there TBH. :
My standards vs what is reality can be different. This is now what I would expect out of a differntial or any of hte gear boxes I was into (lot of conveyor dirves) But have to consider its possibly within range Ural and ok. Stay tuned I don't us...

Re: Don't have a Fuel Filter

I put it wrong.

I am more a water catcher than a filter though the filter is good.

I did not know but suspected the Ural had that.

Re: Just put a deposit down on a 2020 CT!

take the class BEFORE you get the rig. It is helpful and informative. 1. Ask the dealer 2. You need the permit anyway so get that 3. Get the permit and setup to do the class on your new machine. I sincerely wish I could have managed to be in your shoes and do the class before or when I got the Ural...

Re: 2019 cT With Trace of Water in FD

I will say when I did the diesel flush I got a lot of crap come out with it.

I am going to run a few hundred miles and drain again to see how its doing. Does not take much and I like to see whats going on.

I have Mobile Gear lube from the R80 days.

Re: 2019 off road map?

It has not come up as the mapping has been reported good.

Mine (2019) has a few miner hickups starts great, about a minute in a tad ragged and after its warm is good.

I think the off road map was a side step of EPA. Will be interesting if down the road they offer an amended map though.

There are two things that still apply.

Situational awareness (they are out to get you)

Its still very cycle like Ambiance.

Re: Small pop up tent trailers......

I slept on this for about 3 weeks straight and it was as good as my bed - self inflates and in my case I would put in 4 puffs of air to firm it up a bit more. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01FELZ3TW/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 that includes some 10 and 12 hour days in the s...

Good on the safety part. Could not see that it was restrained. Had some close calls but lived or got out of them over the years. My Motto when (still) I was working I have never been sorry when I was safe and I have been sorry when I was not " I think I can pick one up at COSTCO. Usually freight to ...

Re: Just put a deposit down on a 2020 CT!

When AK put in the need for a cycle endorsement I failed to get it under grandfather, so some years latter I had to take the course. My wife to be had the R80GS and got hers fine (she was good) , as I had no cycle but was riding hers (too often she tells me!) I went to get mine to. Now the course wa...

Instruction permit When learning to operate a trike or sidecar rig on the public highways, you must have an instruction permit . The permit is valid for 90 days and may be renewed once . To apply for this permit, you must be at least 16 years of age, have a valid Washington State driver license, an...

Re: Final Drive leaking from plastic capped nut?

So do the new bikes not have a vent? If I needed to replace it would I try to get a vent or no vent? No, the new FD has a vent but its about 1/3 down the casing. In my case I think my venting was due to water vapor getting pulled into the FD during a rainstorm after a long fairly hot run of 9 hours...

Re: 2019 cT With Trace of Water in FD

Remember its a Ural, not a BMW. Yes its all from the vent, high speeds, and warm weather exacerbate it. Its still an improvement from when the dipstick doubled as the vent. A little messy but its sound. I've had a prototype of the current version of the FD on my 2007 Patrol since 2013. its grubby, ...
