Re: cT vs GU Different Carry Capacity?

Hah, I though I remembered a Max weight, not in my manual. If you use empty from the manual for cT and add 440, that comes to #1140 If you use the empty wight in the manual of 730 for the GU, add the 590 - that comes up to #1320 Most interesting. as it give s the cT #625 using the empty and the Max ...

Re: 2019 cT With Trace of Water in FD

Yea that was what happened when I did it.

I went with the dipstick and not quantity and got a petty good mess. Looks like we need a FD sticky on that subject.

Learning, learning, learning. .................

Re: cT vs GU Different Carry Capacity?

My grandma other was like 4 ft 8 inches and her Doc told her she was overweight. I tole her she was just too short for her weight (yea old joke but).

Craked her up, she had never heard that one. Good times may she rest in peace.

Re: My Current Fluids Choice 2019 cT

What got me into alternatives was I was up North camping a couple of times and got over taken by 20 deg temps. And again, I am not saying my way is the only right way, or even the right way or the best right way. Its my way and I think its has good validity. To this day you don't see the Oil mfgs li...

Re: My Current Fluids Choice 2019 cT

Hope not, just my take on a very conflicted area.

Difference between what gets by and what really works lacks data. I ran various oils in my old machines and never had a problem. Castrol was considered good but hard to get in all locales.

We would get 50k on a cycle in those days.

Re: cT vs GU Different Carry Capacity?

It does, I am not sure where all the height change comes in.

GU has 19 inch wheels vs the cT 18".

Re: cT vs GU Different Carry Capacity?

Understood about the M70/Retro, but the data is in line with a non 2WD with 10 lb difference.

I can see that being a carry over but if so then previous data is ?????

My Current Fluids Choice 2019 cT

Going over the manual the Motul oil that is recommended is standard not synthetic (FD is synthetic) I got the fluids changed at 750 miles. But winter is coming on and I had some issues with water in the FD. As Motul is not readily available here I went with Mobile Synthetics which is. Current for th...

Re: New guy!

since a jerky shift on a Ural is accompanied by not only a speed lurch, but a sideways yank as well http://livinginthepast-audioweb.co.uk/imagex/misc/hand-point-up.gif this Still happens occasionally Oh yea and my favorite where I got to up-shift and get all mentally tangled up and downshift (I thi...

Re: cT vs GU Different Carry Capacity?

I suppose it could be. It would have to be 390 then. Assuming a 200 lb rider, still leaves good haul in the hack. That said, Hack with a passenger and more gear would push well over the weight edge . Keeping in mind this is dry weight so you add in tools, helmet, coats, gloves etc for the rider and ...

Re: better shifting

Hesitate on the upshift, add a tad of throttle on the downshift. "Easier" to do when you have a neutral gate to pass through between gears (Eaton Fuller). Those were designed for a clutch less shift. Ural no. While different type of box and gears. I am thinking about a mod as well. I tried toe shif...

Re: New guy!

Heck I don't feel so bad. I had the cT up to 55 comfortably the first day (and it turns out my steering damper was coming undone on both ends - took me a week to find the other end loose and it was 30% better!) Joining the group was the best thing I could have done (well short of an expensive trip j...

Re: tyres

It depends on the year, someone else will have to answer about the Patrol you have (or look at the manual and the tires)

Newer ones all use the same tire. Older ones had an odd ball on the hack I think but not sure which ones they are.
