I’d love to be there, but I’m going to a memorial in PA that weekend.

Re: Parts to Stock

Congrats on the Ural! I stock all the standard filters, fluids and gaskets, but was surprised at how fast the tires and rear/pusher brake pads wear...at least twice as fast as the FJR. I also change spark plugs on the Ural simply because they rust quickly and look like crap. I’m probably in the mino...

Re: What's for Dinner?

I smoked a pork loin today. It was kind of a waste because the entire family went in different directions this evening and we never had a family dinner tonight, but I had to get it out of the fridge. The good news is, it makes a great sandwich, sliced thin with a bit of bbq sauce. Sorry, didn’t take...

Nice! How do you like it? I haven’t gotten my hands on one of those yet.

On a different note, and since we’re sharing...this is what my better 3/4 got me for my birthday.

Re: Maasdam - Mods

FYI, removing the handle and stacking the two pieces together just right, it’ll fit inside a 4”x22” piece of pvc pipe. Now I just have to figure out where to mount it in the bike. Will a 22” pipe fit in the trunk? I still haven’t taken the time to look at pulling and replacing the lever hinge pin. ...

Re: Interesting, Expensive, New Handgun

Funny, I just watched MAC’s CZ52 video about a week ago. That’s a neat gun that I’d like to own. As far as steel handguns are concerned, I just got a CZ Shadow2 for a birthday present. That thing is amazing. It makes me look like a better shooter than I am and it’s built to last.

Re: Iron Butt Association rides: Anyone completed a Saddle Sore 1000?

I’ve been going to Dallas for training for a few years now. That 1200 miles is easy to knock out on the FJR in a day, do it all the time. 1000 on the Ural? I think I’ll pass.
