Re: How many per year?

Wow! 1,400 per year works out to wopping 5 to 7 bikes per day, more or less, depending on whether folks are up for going to work. I suppose…

Re: Sidecar broken weld and axle bearings failure

Well, i added a piece of tubing to beef up and brace the area where the weld had broken. It was a pretty easy job. Here are some photos. (sorry about the orientation…). I don’t think I’ll be worrying about it breaking again! 60A330C5-5FB8-4CD7-947C-E3576244B40F.jpeg FB4E3E22-2865-4A0F-8156-35...

Re: Sidecar broken weld and axle bearings failure

I just got my 2019 Ural GU back from Colorado Moto in Denver, with a new sidecar frame, and new axle, u-joints, and bearings. The warranty work was extremely well done! I don’t know, however, if the frame is the upgraded 2022 version which Windmill alluded to, since it looks pretty much like the one...

Re: Can year 2000 urals use E10?

Yes, it’s ok.

Note: nearly all gas in USA is now E10, regardless of octane designation: eg. 85,87,91 octane. Ural likes the high octane.

I have a Harley Police seat, which has springs under it. …I’ve put more than 30,000 miles on it, much of it off-road, and it co tinues to be supremely comfortable!

Re: Tire alignment? Am I paranoid?

I’ve had three Urals, and they are all as you describe. Just ride the hell out of your bike and enjoy: that’s my recommendation! Oh, and when you adjust the tow-in just use the alignment bar against the rear wheel. That’s how the alignment is done on all other side car motorcycles, and it works for ...

Re: Sidecar broken weld and axle bearings failure

Ural has reinforced the sidecar frame for 2022 because of input from the factory wrecking crew. Looks like they made a good decision. I’m looking forward to seeing if the new frame replacement I’m receiving under warranty is the newer reinforced frame, and if so, where and how it is reinforced :lur...

Sidecar broken weld and axle bearings failure

Well, it’s been quite a year for my 2019 Ural GU (my third Ural). I do a lot of offroading here in Colorado, and although it’s not quite as rough as what the folks at the factory do on their test rides, you can get pretty rough: Hagerman Pass comes to mind as an example: it's a steep and rocky ...

Re: MPG 2021 Ural CT

2019 GU: almost all at 8,500-12,500 ft. in the Rockies, with lots of up and downs off-road. At these altitudes I figure the mighty Ural puts out about 28 hp max!

Re: 1969 Honda CB77 Super Hawk

Back in the ‘60’s I had a 305 Superhawk. Bought it used for $300. In cold weather I’d wear an old WW2 one-piece leather fleece-lined flying suit. It was wired for 24 volts, which wouldn’t haved worked with the bike’s 12 volt system, but nevertheless it kept me toasty warm. …those were the days…! :ch...

Re: Hemisphere Offroad Ural Skid Plate and Sidecar Rock Guards on sale now

As for what they call sidecar rock guards… what happened to me Twice, was the wife would use it as a support when getting in or out of the tub. This would cause the long flimsy screws to bend and crack the plastic nubbins on the two lenses. Then i had to replace the lenses! That was a very noticeab...

Re: Hemisphere Offroad Ural Skid Plate and Sidecar Rock Guards on sale now

I’ve had both and cannot recommend either, alas…the skidplate is too thin and the hangers for it bent and broke. As for what they call sidecar rock guards, it’s unlikely that they would do much if a rock was wver to fly that way, which is in itself rather unlikely. What is more likely, and what happ...
