Re: Vacation in Maine

We enjoy coming out here. Our first visit was in 1989 when our oldest was ten. That’s when she declared that she would live in Maine someday. She moved here after college and hasn’t looked back.

Re: Aired tires and a w@$#ed bike

I had a run of flat tires earlier this year and found out my gauge was reading 8lbs light. Replaced it and no more flats.

Sebago's a terrible place

Rest assured, we’re not tourists. :) My eldest is a resident of Union. Last year, Thanksmas was in Illannoy, this year in Maine. Next year Illannoy again.

Right now, can’t even see across Crescent Lake for the snow.

Vacation in Maine

Spending Thanksgiving with the kidlets and their kidlets in the Sebago Lakes region. Any of the local Uralistas see an exasperated old fart waving at you guys, it’s probably me.

Re: It's beginning to look a lot like ACF-50

Only about an inch today. Ran errands on Arpok. Roads were slicker than deer guts on a door knob. Many of those same door knobs were driving. Prepped the snowblower two weeks ago and moved it from the shed to the garage. As most of our power lines are buried, blackouts are rare but the generator, th...

Re: Pulled the Trigger on a Fattie

Still haven’t been able to put much saddle time on this. I’ve flown about 12,000 miles since my last post here. Just got back from Philly last night. I have today and tomorrow off and it is supposed to SNOW today. I may need to flip a coin to see what gets ridden, this or the GU. Or throw the improv...

With the Maple leaves dropping like hail, I’ve put the board away until spring.

Re: Bought an E-Bike

Yes, Multi Use Paths. When I was in my late thirties/early forties, I was one of THOSE guys. Thirty years ago, though, the paths weren’t as crowded as today. I think when the ‘gotta have’ bikes exceeded the $800.00 threshold, I lost interest fast. Now, some guys don’t flinch at $10K. I still have a ...

Re: What did you do ON your Ural today?

Rode to the Vintage MC Club Banquet, of which I am a member, last night. Nice time. The only who didn’t show up on four wheels. Got a little damp on the ride home.

Re: Bought an E-Bike

Although I have no interest in owning an e-bike, yet, I have been following the development of them the past few years. And they have come a long way fast. I’m torn about how I feel about them on a MUP, though. I think they are great for someone who needs a boost to get up a hill or has a long ride ...

Heavy vintage wool for the cold, Grundens raingear for the wet.
I have a vintage Swedish Army winter motorcycle kit. Very warm but very heavy. Slip and fall on yer a$$ and you will probably need help getting back up. Picture Randy in A Christmas Story.

Don’t ask.

Heated grips, muffs, thin gloves, boots rated to -25F, lined jeans or overalls, shearling lined leather jacket, balaclava, full face helmet. My coldest ride has been -10F. I am an idiot.

Just rode to see one of my favorite customers this morning and drop off some parts for him. About 40 miles round trip.
