Re: New outfit owner

Howdy. Nice looking rig and quite a list. I wanted to rent a bike to tour Oz when I was working there in 03 but my company wouldn’t allow it. Just as well because most mornings I was hung over.

Re: What did you do ON your Ural today?

Rode to the local hydraulic shop to pick up 3 meters of 15mm hydraulic pipe and fittings for a customer because the home office is inept. I essentially got paid to ride.

Re: Security fencing and ANITFA

My younger brother whizzed on an electric fence on a dare. He has weird kids. Coincidence?

Re: Funny or WTF photo thread

I use metric almost exclusively because 99% of my employers machine are metric. I own more metric tools than SAE, and like Lofty, find using Americanese sometimes bothersome, though I will use a 19 on a 3/4”, or vice versa, in a pinch. I would, however, like to fit my hands around the neck of the Ei...

Re: What did you do to your Ural today?

Replaced a leaky tube in the spare. New wheel, newish tire, patched tube. Should have checked the tube first. Anyway, I have done tires so often the last four years, I’m down to less than a half hour now. And the Baja tool speeds things up a bit, too.

Re: Welding, Welders, and Welding Projects

I just got this, https://www.eastwood.com/tig200acdc.html I took welding classes in the nineties where I was exposed to both MIG and TIG. Before that, all I knew about welding was from high school in the early seventies, was oxy-acetylene, which I could barely do, and stick with a Lincoln buzz box, ...

Re: What did you do ON your Ural today?

Picked up my grandson and took him fishing today. No pics of the rig but there is this one. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/49981424107_2fc270ec42_z.jpg Eli’s mom put some weird ‘Kid Safe’ hook and bobber on his line. Kid couldn’t catch a cold with it. I replaced it with a real hook and bobber a...

Replace the front tire. Used the old one to make a tire swing for my youngest grandson.

Re: What did you do ON your Ural today?

Sandwich run to the local food truck base of operation. I called ahead as they still only do curbside delivery. They always ask what kind of vehicle you’re in so I just said an old green motorcycle with a sidecar. The young lady running out orders took my picture.

Re: WANTED: Free Garage Audio Advice

Back when I could hear well, I had a Sanyo CD-4 system set up in my garage. Man, hearing the thunder from Riders on the Storm circle the interior of the garage was fantastic. Unfortunately, only available as a vinyl disc or 8-track, that went the way of Beta video players. With the new digs being lo...

Re: New Toy

There is a learning curve, but I am getting there. When waving at the neighbors, don’t let go of one handle to do it. Nod or uncurl the fingers of one hand, leaving the wrapped around the grip. Ditches are the enemy. One wheel in the air happens, don’t freak out. It’s got a bigger foot print than th...

Re: What did you do to your Ural today?

I had a pusher blow out at 60mph today. Doodoo occurs, that’s why I have a spare. But, for the first time since I’ve had the rig, other riders stopped to see if they could help. They couldn’t, but it was nice that someone actually stopped. I also found something the owners manual was good for. https...

New Toy

New, not new to me.

Knocked 45 minutes off how long it takes to mow my acre. Kinda like a tilt a whirl that can kill ya.
