Re: Normal price for a full repaint?

My biggest concern would be if your bike is already powder coated at the factory like mine. Not sure when they started doing that, but I do know that getting standard lacquers and enamels to stick to the stuff can be a problem if they don't know what they're doing. (3 coats paint, 2 coats clear coa...

I appreciate the suggestion, WN.
How about a powerful neodymium magnet placed at the base of each spring clip? 🤔

Re: Quick detach windshield mount.

Six points, really? This would be 3 bike attachment points on each side. Or are you talking about total mounting points, which includes the fairing as well as the bike? I believe it's 10 total: four points attach the bracket to the fairing and six points of contact to the bike. Might be six and six...

Re: Vibration

After an engine rebuild, I experienced excessive vibrations, so I weighed my pistons and found one to be roughly 10 grams heavier, so I lightened it by removing material. - 2019-07-22 07.29.15.jpg - Now the excessive vibrations are gone and I'm left with the normal not-BMW-smooth vibrations. Product...

Re: Quick detach windshield mount.

From what I can see, it appears that Burt's mount is a 2 point system with a mounting point on each side of the fairing going to a bracket that attaches to the fork top caps. Close. Burt 's design employs a 6-point mounting system . It is incredibly rigid when mounted, yet doesn't foul the handleba...

Re: Quick detach windshield mount.

I took a quick look at the front end of my bike and can see how to make the mounts for a windshield. It would be based on an HD quick detach style. No sense reinventing the wheel, right? Basically a clamp on mount with a quick detach fitting just below the sheet metal on the forks. And the second m...

Re: MIL and Too Much Gas?

A low battery will cause a solid MIL illumination with no codes.

I don't know what else would cause that.

I asked the seller of my '99 if I could have this Suzuki emblem that was laying on his property, so he donated it.

Re: I Bought An RPOC Today

Anything you pour into the speedometer cable flows directly into the transmission, so why not give the transmission what it wants? If this is so your speedo drive needs repair . Every Ural's speedometer cable drains straight into the transmission, Nate . Well, except for the new ones that have an e...

Re: I Bought An RPOC Today

I'm curious why you used engine oil in the speedo cable as it will dry out, liquid graphite is what all the cable manufacturers recommend......
