Re: Final Drive-Driveshaft Clunk

When you had the bike jacked up was the sidecar wheel still on the ground and not rotating? You might try rotating the rear wheel by hand to see if you can feel any binding, etc. Putting the bike in gear, with the engine off, And try rocking the rear wheel to see if there is excessive play in the dr...

Re: Acewell Tachometer!!

Excellent! I like well thought out modifications, looks OE rather than add on. Yup, I gotta agree that it looks like it belongs on the bike. I think you need to replace those plastic plugs with some special buttons. I'd label one LOAD and another FIRE. Maybe put CHAFF or FLARES on another. Since yo...

Build your own. More fun.

Try 1/8" NPT plastic fittings. Yeah.... it's a cross thread but it works and holds well.
I thought cross threading was limited to cylinder temperature sensors.

Re: Power for Accessories

You might want to put heat shrink tubing on the exposed portion of the spade terminals that are connected to the relay. Better safe than sorry.

Re: Adding LED lights

I did the spotlight to headlight conversion on my 2017 cT. I used the factory switch that is in the sidecar fuse box to interrupt the ground and allow me to turn off the secondary headlight.

Re: Won't go into gear when hot

Does the transmission grind when you try to put it into gear? Have you tried engaging second gear instead of first?

Re: 7.6 gallon fuel tank

there's a 250mi stretch of road along Highway 50, dubbed "The Lonliest Road in the America" to consider. I’ve always wanted to ride RT. 50 from the East Coast to the West Coast. Me too. But not on a Ural :) Did the western half on my bmw, but it was new and I was half as old as now  If y...

Re: Anyone used an LSK fuel gauge?

Most electronic gear indicators require a tachometer signal and an electronic speedometer signal. If your bike is 2017 or newer it shouldn’t be a problem. If your bike is older you will probably have to add a wheel speed sensor. They do post the installation instructions on their site: https://ffb9...

Re: Anyone used an LSK fuel gauge?

The lsk kit comes with a wheel speed sensor and you have to calibrate it. I have a Dakota Digital speedometer on my Sportster and the gear indicator had to be calibrated for each gear. On the Dakota unit I had to ride in first, hit a button, shift to second, hit the button again and repeat for all ...

I may order one when they get back in stock as well as the gear indicator. Anyone tried one of those on a ural? The big plus, and this is the real kicker for me, no bullshit computer or plug needed, no maps to download, syncronize at idle with a basic manometer--
Actually the Keihin system self balances at idle, you just have to balance the throttle cables with a manometer.

Well fudge, I was going to order one, but see they're out of stock until November.
Looks like we might both have a winter project.
