Re: My Ural (Mis?)Adventure, so far.......

"Whatever you do, just don't buy a 2014 candy cane colored Patrol. I don't think anyone has had luck with those." Ooops. That is what I just bought. I sold my 2004 and bought the '14 for a good price. So far so goood. Where are you? Where did you buy it? Texas? Seriously, what a great looking bike....

Re: My Ural (Mis?)Adventure, so far.......

Do the KLX needle kit from eagle mike as well. Night and day difference. I also went up one tooth from stock on the front sprocket. I love my KLR, but will be going full Ural sometime in the next year to be able to ride more with the family :) I wish you all the luck in the world with that. That wa...

Re: My Ural (Mis?)Adventure, so far.......

Greetings fellow KLR owner. What color (I’ve got a red ‘17 KLR). It's yellow. The bike is still in the box and I'll pick it up tomorrow after work if it's ready. If not, on Friday. Here's what it should look like. https://www.totalmotorcycle.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/2018-Kawasaki-KLR650a-1024...

Re: My Ural (Mis?)Adventure, so far.......

I guess it’s time to close this misadventure. I just traded my Ural for a new KLR. Thanks for all the advice and encouragement over the last three years. God knows I needed it. I’ll probably lurk on the website so if you’re ever in the San Antonio/Austin corridor in need, hit me up. Thanks for joini...

Re: My Ural (Mis?)Adventure, so far.......

Finally, great news!!!!! My bike is back together and running fine. I could go pick it up tomorrow (it's too late to make it up there today) but AF1 has offered to keep it for the weekend and detail it for me since they know I want to sell it and because the bike has been in their shop for so long. ...

Re: My Ural (Mis?)Adventure, so far.......

Twelve days since the last update and..... counting. Patience currently at zero and frustration soaring onward to infinity. Anyone got any good ideas for getting stickers and decals off the bike without damaging the paint? I want to restore this thing to as new as possible to be able to get the maxi...

On the alignment, did you have the alignment slides marked with paint or nail polish?

No, I never did because that's something I didn't even consider when I first had the clutch problem last year in South Dakota.

Re: My Ural (Mis?)Adventure, so far.......

The bike is currently on the lift getting the new parts installed. Darn, I had a good alignment between the bike and hack. Hopefully they will put it back together with a good setup.

Cool. Many of those photos look like they could have come from some parts of the US in that same time period. Some looked like Old West photos, others look like they could have come from the mid-west rust belt.

Re: My Ural (Mis?)Adventure, so far.......

I just got off the phone with Josh from IMZ-Ural. We discussed the issue. He and I will both be on top of this. I talked with him about how the issue with my clutch plates and how I don't know why I've had such bad luck. He is going to be looking into possible causes. I told him the suggestions I've...

Re: My Ural (Mis?)Adventure, so far.......

I know, patience. And really, I'm alright waiting for my bike to get fixed. But, my Ural's been broke down, waiting for parts and repair for weeks now. I dropped it off at a dealership in early/mid May and the warranty is set to expire at the beginning of August. I'd read somewhere that if your bike...

Re: Which helmet com system?

I have the 20s so that I can listen to music and also not miss any important phone calls when out riding. Last year, my daughter needed a new helmet and what I got her was the Bilt modular helmet with the integrated bluetooth from Sena. It works with my 20s. We're able to both listen to the same mus...

Re: My Ural (Mis?)Adventure, so far.......

Does Texas have a lemon law? Yes, Texas does have a Lemon Law but it states that the problem causing the break down must be the same problem at least three occurrences over some specified amount of time. I've had a plethora of problems, not the same exact problem each time. This is twice for the cl...
