Re: How To Stay Dry In A Sidecar ??

Yep some sort of cover that cones up to the passengers waist or chest. The stock tonneau cover might work like this. As a passenger I found the worst issue was the draught that comes in from the side opening. The screen seems to aggravate this. I bought the cordura door for my wife. She says it wor...

You all never cease to amaze me. I'm pretty sure this collective could find Hoffa if they decided to apply themselves to it.

Re: What did you do to your Ural today?

I adjusted the steering bearings tonight. They have been loosening since I bought it. This time, once I removed everything, I cleaned things up, and added loctite. I really don't like using it if I don't have to, but I am tired of this loosening. Loctite does also serve to protect from corrosion, so...

Here is a Ural with a VW engine. I have a bunch of Russian motorcyclists following me on Instagram, and I follow them. It is amazing the things they do with Urals. I have seen a number of Urals with VW engines.
It's a Dnepr frame and gearbox.
Yes.

Re: What did you do to your Ural today?

Wow! Much roomier than the Hippo Hands I bought in the early 80s (they did the job, though, in those days before heated gloves and good motorcycle charging systems). Those look quite cozy. Yeah, they are quite big. They are the largest they make. I had trouble deciding which ones to get. While sear...

Re: What did you do to your Ural today?

While I was lounging on a deck chair on the ship last week, I ordered Hippo Hands, the Alcan model. I got home last night, and the Hippo Hands arrived today. They went on easily, without having to move my GPS and heated grips controller mount. https://i.imgur.com/Qp0yN5o.jpg https://i.imgur.com/wfZ3...

Re: ural 2016 ecu ejt32l Water ingress

I am interested in how this turns out as well. My left ECU blew as well. I had an old throttle body in a box, one that cookiemech had replaced when he replaced the right side throttle body, when he owned the rig. He gave me the old throttle bodies. I was able to remove the ECU from the old throttle ...

Re: Clutch pack screw removal

I've had good luck with this type of impact driver, Kroil penetrant, and a propane torch. Impact Driver.jpg Kroil.jpeg Propane Torch.jpg Also, it could be beneficial to "de-peen" the screw locks that were hammered into the plate via center punch, file, or Dremel. That's what I use as well. I used t...

Re: I hate to admit it, but Ural does wheelie

Remember to breath and unclinch sphincter. Good advice. I had an incident like clinched the sphincter that on two wheels. I used to drag race bikes. I had the by run one day, so I wanted to go all out to help determine the time to post for the main. My method on my ZX1000R was to rev it to 6,000 RP...

Re: I hate to admit it, but Ural does wheelie

I hurriedly pop the clutch and gave it a little throttle and up goes the front end. In REVERSE. Surprised the heck out of me and my wife staring from the garage. I asked her if it true the front off the ground and she said "oh yeah " For that split second the pusher jogged the rig to the right and ...

It's been almost 7 weeks since the big event and I feel great! I went on my first 3 wheel ride since the surgery and brought Joey with. Joey loves the rig and is a perfect hack passenger. https://i.postimg.cc/SjZgSSnr/IMG-9757.jpg Glad you are doing well, and are back riding. Take care, and enjoy e...

Re: I hate to admit it, but Ural does wheelie

Yep, can't be in a hurry to make a left turn. I've done the same thing trying to be the first person to power through the green light, and I ended up looking like an idiot who'd never ridden before. The mechanics of it are simple enough -- we're basically doing a wheelie across the line between the...
