Re: Hello from a new IMZ M61 owner.

.I can now see the real extent of the headstock bearing wear !!!! Absolutely shocking :o .... but then they needed doing anyway, so I'm just hoping the bearing seats aren't destroyed !!!! Forget about standard bearings - use these https://ru.aliexpress.com/item/33049562538.html?spm=a2g0o.detail.100...

Re: 1968 Ural Motorcycle & Sidecar - $1000

Not a 1968, more like a domestic 1998! Perhaps good for spare parts or a sidecar.

Re: Hello from a new IMZ M61 owner.

Ignore Claus, as he's ignorant of the facts. Your photo shows a fine spline drive shaft that was first used in the mid to late 1990s. Factory workers made shorter fine spline driveshafts to fit the short framed M-63 and M-66, they are fairly rare. I obtained one for a project, but ended up using coa...

Claus: I have never worked on one, bare 6208 and then a separate crank shaft seal?

All mine were engines with Babbitts and a seal.
Don't forget the circlip hiding under the seal.

Re: Dealer Help

Contact the NHTSA about the problem, as rims are covered by their certification. If other 2013 rims have been affected, they may order a safety recall.

Re: Hello from a new IMZ M61 owner.

There won't be RAL colour standard, not for Soviet paint, though there will be a Soviet GOSTSTANDART, but good luck in finding it. A quick search for ГОСТ краски и лаки came up with over 100 GOST. Add to the fact that GOST date from the late 1960s, then rocking horse sh!t is easier to find. The colo...

Re: Hello from a new IMZ M61 owner.

Yep .... i agree .... i think it's a later setup (?m66). I am almost certain the m61 had a fork setup that was unique. It was a development between the m72 and the m62. I have already decided that she's going to get an original m72 front end ..... the reason behind my logic is: - Her fender is orig...

Re: Original Ural Wolf

The Wolf was an evolution from the Cobra and Voyage. The Cobra was a hardtail frame and perhaps only 13 were made, one resides in the Irbit museum and 12 were sold to the then British importer, Chris Burgess. Most if not all were converted to trikes. They were originally a solo seat 650. ural cobra....

Re: Original Ural Wolf

Somewhere around the late 90's, early 2000's, while cruising the interwebs, I remember coming across a German (I think) dealer converting Urals to 15" or 16" wheels. They sold them as the Ural Wolf. Does anyone else remember this, or was I cruising through an unknown portal to an alternate universe...
