Re: Question of the day. How to prepare my Chang for a 700 mile trip

I would change as little as possible from the normal daily routine and just check the fluids daily on your trip. More often if you feel the need knowing you own rig better than us. Changing loads of parts before a big trip turns the first part into the break in run forbthose parts which can be un ne...

Re: Crank Breather Hose Routed to Centerstand = Bogging Engine During H20 Crossing?

Depending on how long the sump is in the water I would say overcooled oil overcooling the pistons causing a stumble as mentioned above. This can happen in the winter with too thick an oil and the extended sump. Water on the wires is also a good candidate as electrons are pretty lazy and look for the...

Re: Stump the chumps at O'reilly, AutoZone, PepBoys, NAPA...

The hub stores around here stock multiple version of both of these. The smaller stores don't.

Try asking for a condenser for a 53 chevy or a 57 willys. They usually respond with the fact that they can't find any ac parts for those vehicles......

Re: RE: Re: Sidecar Sandbag

I'd suggest none... Learn to ride it the way it will be most of the time. Just my opinion Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk I am in the same camp. Start empty and slow. Work up to speed. Then add ballast if you want to learn how to ride a loaded rig. The best way to avoid the possible sidecar whee...

Slomark, you are fine. The overflow tube lets air in and fumes out regardless of whatever the cap is doing. Ride it and enjoy it.

Re: RE: Re: frozen gas cap = erratic running?

Normally when riding I only smell gas when the cap is loose. When standing still in traffic and a full tank I may smell it from time to time. When I park in my garage I get the hot engine and venting tank smell which has been the same for 11 years now. Smokers nightmare. I smoke a pipe and I...

Re: Dipstick thermometer

It is interesting to see how long it takes oil to warm up when you ride. I have tried various grades at various temps and there is a pretty big difference based on outside air temp.
