Re: My Apologies To All

Nobody told me. No one thought to ask. :(

Seems I was supposed to stop my other meds a week before starting this one. GRRRRR!!!!

I suspect that's why medicine is called a "practice".

Off to my happy place (shop) to change some hydraulic fittings.

Re: carburator diaphram

Di-electric grease in the groove. Won't harm the rubber.

If you leave it out overnight it'll shrink a bit as it out gasses any fuel it absorbed.

My Apologies To All

Sorry if I've been a bit loopy/grumpy in my posts lately. I had a bad reaction to an arthritis med that wound up with my better half taking me to the ER yesterday evening. Seems they overdosed me or that I'm just really sensitive to it. I don't feel so hot yet today but at least my heads cleared up.

Re: 2006 patrol questions carbs and ignition

Please check your valves again. Spec os .040" or forty thousands. Four thousands is .004" Sorry to be priggy but decimals after the decimal point read; tenths, hundredths, thousands, after that its too darn small for most of us to worry about. Placeholders are the last digit used. .04 is four hundre...

Re: Reverse Shift Lever (? OEM)

As an afterthought you might want to add a leather or wave washer between the knob handle and the front mount. That way you can adjust the tension holding the knob handle in position. I have an older raceway version that needed a stronger spring to stay in place. FWIW - I used a drill press and a vi...

Re: Reverse Shift Lever (? OEM)

From the photos it looks like it bolts up to the front sidecar brace. The heim joint end will require you to mod (flatten) both sides of the knob on the OEM shift lever before drilling it out. Be careful pulling the lever to work on it. Use a puller. Too much goosing it around and it can disengage f...

Re: Selling a Favorite Toy on Ebay

I've been off two wheels for a long time. Long term knee/hip issues from a run-in with a drunk in a truck aren't getting any better. But I get your drift. I'm just 70 and know I'll have to stop in a couple of years.

Re: Argument for full face helmets

About three Schuberths ago I bought my first full face. It lasted about a week. On my flying brick in a six lane superslab merge curve in AM traffic. Something kicked up off the road and took out the chin vent and the lower face shield. D@rn near took me off the bike. Never saw it coming. Never rode...

Re: Gamesmanship

Wound up with my Kubota that way. I was at the dealer doing some test driving of attachments and -------without prompting------wife started moving stuff around in the front end loader and smiling like crazy. I bought it on the spot.

Re: Shock Bushing Tool Kit

Heres the finished kit. I rounded off the square aluminum to fit the OD of the pipe.

Parts on workbench.

Assembled with a couple of spare washers and nut. All set to languish in my drawer of odd Ural stuff.
