They really are. Besides modulation and all weather stopping power they are almost maintenance free, replacing pads is a 5 minute job and last me about 7000 miles. Good luck finding any new bikes now, nobody was ready for the covid buying spree.

If you get a new or used machine spend a month or two with it and put a couple thousand KM on it before taking off on an extended trip. It need a little bit of battery to kick start. Somewhere there is a video of attaching a 9v battery to the Ducati ignition which is enough to get it fired up with the kick starter.

Yep. Waste of time.

I "got retired" (laid off) 5 years ago at 62 and decided not to look for another job. Best decision ever. So much less stress! Things I thought were going to be an issue (keeping busy, money) just never materialized. Congrats, you earned it, enjoy!

Sad as the article is, it might pique the interest someone who had never heard of Urals.
