Re: What did you do to your Ural today?
Not today, but last week I put one of these on my GearUp: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0152J1JR6/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 It's super bright and drops right in, BUT... it's no good for street use without modification. The problem is they focused the hi and lo at the same spot...

Ural related Father's Day gift
My daughter is a full time mom, but she also paints. She sent me this for Father's Day.

Anyone else get anything Ural related for Father's Day?

Re: What did you do to your Ural today?
Trailered it for 3 hours to get 2 hours (probably less, who knows? They never called to let me know it was done) worth of warranty work done (did I mention it was their fault?) to then immediately load it up and trailer it 3 hours back home. Hopefully that's the last time I have to deal with those ...

Round Rock, TX car show - Feb 21st
Now that I've got my Ural running well again I'm excited to show it off. I'm planning on taking it to the little Round Rock car show on Feb 21st. It starts at 10am... Any other central Texas folks want to meet up there? Maybe go for a ride afterwards?

Re: Where to live.....
My wife wants Utah and it would be ok. We've been looking around Beaver (be nice) and down towards st George. Any thoughts on that area? If you're not Mormon, don't move to St George. That's one of the more intense towns in Utah. I'm a big fan of Utah, but prefer the areas east of Salt Lake, like o...

Re: Zinc Plating at Home
Max DC voltage for a good looking finished product is 1.5 VDC. So, whatever type of power supply you use, you will need to control it down to 1.5 VDC max. Cool post! The best home plating results I've seen have been done with either AA or C batteries. Batteries provide a smoother voltage and ampera...

That's a good point. There's nothing wrong with it, but they do have a few more decades of catching up.Kilometers2 wrote:To us in the U.S. the REs are a throwback to a simpler time. To the Indians, they are the best they have produced

No it won't; you'll probably be dead by the time that bill is due. Deficit financing allows the government to kick that can down the road a few generationsTin Man wrote:I don't want the military using that crap. Got the inspection and robbery (aka registration) done, and then used the bike to deliver some duck eggs. It's a great feeling having it back on the road!

Re: What did you do to your Ural today?
So I got my overpriced battery charged and installed. Pushed the starter button and just got a little clunk. Grabbed a mallet and gave the starter a whack. Hit the button again and she fired right up. The old battery had been too weak to turn the starter for a few years and I had just been using the...

Re: What did you do to your Ural today?
Heck no, just threw it in there whole. The ultrasonic vibrates up into all the nooks and crannies. I did clean the float valve and diaphragm pieces by hand, tho. I wanted to be a little more gentle with them. So I checked Walmart, NTB, and Autozone and none of them had a battery. I did find one at N...

Re: What did you do to your Ural today?
Simmered the carbs in Pinalen in the ultrasonic over night. Got them back on the bike and it's running as well as it ever has  I didn't want that nasty stuff in my ultrasonic cleaner so I used a slow cooker bag. I'm glad I did because the fumes actually melted the paint on the lid. Now I need t...
