Where exactly are you out of? If you see a camo GU in Greenback or Vonore, it's probably me. Wouldn't mind getting on some Ural rated trails around here sometime.
I am in Clinton. We'll have to meet up and ride sometime!

Warm East Tn January Day

With lows starting at 60 and highs at 70, I decided it would be a good day to get out and ride!! Called a buddy with a KLR that lives in North Ga and we met in Tellico Plains. Explored some back roads, the Cherohala, Fontana Village and the Dragon. Even found some snow!! I could care less about the ...

Re: Winter Riding and Police Attention

As a retired LEO (motor cop for some of it), I will offer this; You are NOT likely to get stopped for riding a motorcycle in the winter/snow unless you are doing the following on public roadways- violating rules restricting driving of ALL vehicles due to weather conditions, doughnuts, drifting, care...

Re: Choosing routes for Urals

I will normally figure out a direction/destination and then consult google maps for any road but the Interstate. That being said, I am not afraid to get on the interstate if I need to get somewhere a little quicker.

Re: Shin guards - all year or just in cold?

When I lived in Florida, I would put them on for the short "winter" season and take them off for the long, hot, steamy season. I am now in east Tn and leave them on all the time, mostly because I am too lazy to take them off. LOL

Re: Best windshield Fairing or Plexistar 2?

Don't recall what brand, but I bought it from Holowpaw when I bought the bike. I later had a local canvas shop make the lower covering. I am 5'11" and it keeps the wind off me pretty good when I don't have the sidecar windshield on. When the sidecar windshield is on, it funnels a HUGE amount of wind...

Re: N. Georgia Mountains Suches Two Wheels Only

TWoS is an awesome place. First went there in the mid 2000s when it was TWO. Definitely worth the trip. Best eats in the area are TWoS kitchen and Jim's Smokin' Q (on 129, a Ga 180). Also there used to be a great cajun restaurant in Dalonaga (on the north side of the square).
