Anyone around Bragg/Fayetteville area to help

It has been about 2 years since I had the rig running. I can not get it to fire up without the enrichers on all time and keep throttle about half way open. I have replaced the jets, cleaned the air filter, replaced all oils/fluids, new plugs with a bright blue spark, adjusted valves, new style elbow...

Re: National Ural Rally Day (NURD) 2016 - September 10

I hope I can make this run. I am still laid up from my spring incident. Will talk to my doc and see if he will take me out of this darn boot.

Re: A decade of CRAP

HAHAHAHA, the flaming bike and torqued out rig........gods, that would be an interesting story to tell after CRAP. Maybe we should drag something like that out there to mess with Jimmy and folks

Re: A decade of CRAP

Damn, that looks like it was a real hoot this year. I really wished I could have made. Finally came out of my stupor on Saturday afternoonish. I had surgery to repair 98% tear of Achilles tendon on Wednesday, there was no way I could have made it. I have a great Doc working on me, former COL, now Mr...

Re: ouch, that really F'ing hurt

It is a stock ignition, 08 Patrol. Have not dug into that part of the bike yet. I will not be messing with anything out doors for a while. Doc is saying 8-10 months before I can put weight, lift, etc. Surgery inbound

Re: ouch, that really F'ing hurt

So lesson learned here. I have always used the kick start on my Ural and have never had this happen to me. Make sure you take your hand OFF the throttle before kicking. They only thing I can think is that I left my hand on it and turned it a little bit. My ankle and calf are now about 3 times the si...

Re: CRAP 2016

I would like to ask for anybody that has some large'ish size ABC fire extinguishers to bring them out. I only have 2 or 3 and think we should have a couple more just in case.... Yeah, definitely frayed the tendon and muscle a little. Waiting to see what the doc says about treatment. I will be hobbli...

Re: ouch, that really F'ing hurt

One of the meddicos I know came over. It is definitely tore, but I see the Doc in the morning and get some more magic pills and a pressure splint I am sure. Guess I will not be playing any sports for a few weeks. Bike did crank up with the e-start, so it was just me not paying attention to what I wa...

Re: ouch, that really F'ing hurt

hmmmm, well apparently I did hold the throttle some. My son went out and kicked it over for me with no power on. I guess I might have left my hand on the throttle like a DA. I don't normally do that, must not have had enough beer....

Re: CRAP 2016

Harry, I think you misunderstand what we mean by policing. That is Army/Marine speak for picking up all the trash and putting things back where they belong/came from. Niteblues was just picking on me for being anal-retentive about trash laying around is all. This is a really nice area, out in the wo...

Re: ouch, that really F'ing hurt

I have always used the kick starter. Have not had this happen to me before. I guess I held the throttle open. Being stupid and not paying attention to what I was doing I guess. Will have to wait a bit to go see if the engine will turn over.

ouch, that really F'ing hurt

I just tore my calf muscle trying to kick over Ural. I pushed down, then it snapped back and lifted me up and over. Does this mean my engine is locked up now? I know my leg is burning like it is on fire, wrapped it, iced it, waiting on doctors appt. Other than this meaning me being dumb again, any i...
