Re: Lucas High Performance Synthetic 20W50 Motorcy
I did a forum search and could not find a lot of information about Lucas High Performance Synthetic 20W50 Motorcycle Oil. It is least expensive readily available synthetic M.C. Oil in my area. I was wondering were the experiences of people who had tired it. I use there gear oil in F.D. and am very ...

/quote] Huh? What import restrictions? :-| I get parts from Romania all the time. I probably put my foot in my mouth but It was put there forcibly by DHL. Just speaking from my "Canadian" experience dealing with them. I went to the local office February 2011 .I was told by DHL brokerage that...

Re: Air Box mods K&N E-3324 Filter
Trooper, why not just rig up a catch can for your breather hose? They're easy to make, and really common on sportbikes. I had one on my Buell made out of a 5-Hour Energy bottle (just the right size, IMHO). Just empty it out every few rides (if that often) and you're good to go. No mess. I've seen a...

Re: Different valve covers for Urals?
(snip)that I am prejudiced or anything...don't leak either...(snip), and still probably not leak! Oddly enough my 2011 has the 2010 and earlier valve cover gaskets...go figure...and it was (for a Retro) a late 2011... Basty valve covers properly installed with pre 2010 gaskets do NOT leak,at all,ev...

The "Man" says mufflers are "MANditory" and must not exceed 91db at 1500 rpm or 96 db at 5000rpm.(fourth violation is a coolSwordsman wrote:Honestly, I'd really like the Saint exhaust. Who needs pesky mufflers?

Re: Possibly the dumbest question ever!
Plan is to ditch the petcock screen and rely just on the inline filters. I don't wanna have to drain the tank repeatedly... seems like it'd be easier to just deal with the line filters. Ya might wanna reconsider yer 'plan'... there's lots of crud inside the gas tanks on these things... lots of crud...

Re: Different valve covers for Urals?
Thank you for the information and pictures Stormtrooper. They really look nice. I will take your advice and not pursue them though. Maybe I'll get some old Beemer covers and try to rework them over next winter. I'd like something a little less squared than the stockers. In order to install Beemer c...

If your going to do any kind of off road the Basty valve covers are NOT for you. They are sand cast aluminum based on 1935 BMW R75 http://ts3.mm.bing.net/images/thumbnail.aspx?q=1520354205778&id=fa94d837a5670a3e3a323899cb2a65c3&url=http%3a%2f%2fimg191.imageshack.us%2fimg191%2f6844%2fbmwr75.jpg They a...

Well you spend two months taking it all apart to "make it better" and mother nature needles you by giving you great riding weather.Once you get the tins back and reassemble the bike, she'll needle you by dropping the temperature and giving you the cold shoulder.Typical woman.(image removed as was too...

Just turn the damn vent tube so it points toward the ground. That is the way mine came 10 years ago with no vents. Never a problem...you guys over think this stuff too much...remember, WWID :D Well it's a damned good thing I did not reply to this.My solution might have been ten pages long and very ...

Re: Finally finished and NO it's NOT being sold
So, how would that compare to the performance of the Modtop muffler system? Any idea? I tried a) stock exhaust..too muffled, restricted, too heavy 2009 Chromed version, not the new stainless version. b) 2 - 27" Dunstall 1 3/4 flow through. No cats on the extensions Probably the closest to Mod Top muffl...
