Re: Big Boy Toys - The Real Deal

I went to the one by Mt. Dora last year and ran into,”JohnnySprocket” a fellow SovietSteeds member. It was fun checking stuff out. The tank cannons were very loud. Looking at some of the booths that collectors display their stuff was interesting. Seeing some of the Nazi stuff gave me the creeps. All...

At this point I haven’t made a decision. I’m concerned about COVID and being around crowds. I’ll keep you posted on this.

Re: Ural of New England built my dream Ural, but it costs as much as a car

My first Ural, a new 2005 Patrol with a Russian windshield on the motorcycle out the door, $10,500. Sold that rig and bought a new 2010 Gear-Up with a sidecar windshield and an ammo can mounted on the tub, Aux. Headlights, $16,500. I now have 93,400km. on her. When she rusts, no problem, sandpaper, ...

Re: Spares are good!

I’m thinking of making a video and posting it here about,” The stuff in Marty’s Ural trunk” I think it would be a bit more interesting than watching paint try. :D Maybe if I hire a Hooters gal to remove the trunk items it may offer more social redeeming value?

Spares are good!

So.... Many years ago ( like ten yrs) around the time I bought my 2nd. Ural, I purchased from Holopaw Gene a spare throttle cable assembly and a spare clutch cable. Well after 92,800 kms. I finally stretched out the clutch cable beyond its adjustment range. I remembered I purchased these items an lo...

Re: How To Ride

Yes,Dad is correct. You must learn to fly the chair. You don’t want that to surprise you. Practice, practice, practice and practice some more. Where you look you go. Also, walking speed only in reverse. These rigs are very unstable going quick in reverse. Have fun! Ask lots of question here. Lot of ...

Re: Dale Walksler ..... Wheels Through Time

I remember some of us from a FART rally headed over there and checked out Wheels through time. We spent about three hours walking around. I could have easily spent twice that time because there’s just so much to see and read. Dale wasn’t there that time as he was at Vintage days festival at the Barb...

Re: Saving Private Ryan

In the movie, The battle of the Bulge” they used American M-47&48’s to represent the German tanks and American M-4’s for the American tanks. The war destroyed many of the real German Tigers and Panzers. The two movies that had a real Tiger tank was,”Kelly’s heroes” and “Saving private Ryan”. Hooray ...
