Re: Final Drive leaking from plastic capped nut?

What S854 said...let it drain a while! I used to add just 3.5 oz cuz it'd spew some oil if I added 4.5 oz per the manual. Then I discovered that if I let the FD oil drain overnight, I can add 4.5 oz.of FD oil as the manual says...nooo problem. BTW...I do not use the dipstick level, I add the recomme...

Re: A Tale of Woe :(

Hey Charlie...just a note: back in about 2008/2009 or maybe earlier, Billy G had a write up on using this "space age" grease (can't remember the name/brand) + replacing the Ruskie bearings with a name brand of the western world. The Russian grease tends to melt & was screwing up the alt adapter Rusk...

Re: Mikuni rigid carb holder

Here's the current set-up on my 2007 Ural Patrol. There is no compliance fitting to connect the carb to the mount. There is a phenolic spacer between the mount and the cylinder head. I use a piece of silicone tubing secured with a strap clamp to hold the carb to the mount & prevent air leaks. The si...

Re: Mikuni rigid carb holder

Just made mukuni rigid carb holder. Left is OME, right was machine by Monkeyuncle . Resized_20190511_105416.jpeg Thanks to gobium...he made me a set way back when (dunno if he remembers 😁). I initially had a set of brackets from an older ural and had a pair of aluminum tubes that I was requesting g...

Alternator Gasket

OK folks...how can one prevent the gasket that goes between the alt. cush drive & the motor from getting torn everytime you remove, reinstall, and adjust the alternator lash (by sound). Everytime I rotate the alternator, the gasket tears. If I adjust it by feel, I still have to move the alternator s...

Re: Fuel leaking out of carburetor vent cap

Trying to start the ural fuel leaks out of the carb vent cap. I understand the cap should move and also read in another topic that you can operate with out it? My problem is it pours fuel out on kick and electric start? Only pours out left side carb. Maybe the carb is flooded? How do you drain Simp...

Re: Clutch rod plunger and associated removal

What Rougaroo said...check the rod length if ur not replacing it. I don't think you'll have an issue with your 2012, the (slightly) longer length came about when the thicker middle plate, where tranny clutch shaft goes through the driven clutch plates were introduced. Dunno what year the upgrade was...

Re: Total Loss System

Lokiboy...most likely it's been covered but I'm not savvy enough to properly search. I tried several times & failed...my "search fu" is weak. Gobium shared enough info for me to forge on. It's just a temporary fix till I receive the alt I ordered from Holopaw. Thanks anyways.
