Re: Bodging an acceptable exhaust system

Scott- how did you form the major bends in the EMT? I used some EMT for my "Ivan-Bubba" exhaust, and bent the EMT only enough to get turndowns. I used a borrowed electrician's bender with a long handle and it was still a severe chore to get the 1-1/4 EMT to bend at all, let alone for a close sweep l...

Re: Counter-revolutionary alternative to Keihin EFI???

I think all you'd need to do is find some way to fit in an old fashioned points plate. Member Cushe adapted a GM unit to an older bike in another thread. I got to wondering if that type of conversion could replace the unavailable C5 or Powerarc systems. Not sure how many people would know how to us...

Re: Wear on clutch release thrust bearing plate

hello, model Ural retro 2014 - 16.000 kms re opening this subject as i certainly got an issue on this clutch bearing plate. Heavy noise when using the clutch and not possible to select a gear when engine runs. According to a video from our friend Van it is possible to replace it "on wing" , i will ...

Re: Low Fuel Light Not Working

Ya know, I find it interesting, and before I say/type any more, I am NOT trying to start a Harley/Ural war. The Harley forum I frequent would have owners in an uproar with even a 1/4 of what we discuss with our Urals. I love mine, and very glad I was able to get hold of one. I had issues with it, e...

Re: Dnepr MT-11 wheel offset?

PS, are half the spokes shorter than the other half? If so there may be some offset in the arrangement, if not, there probably isn't any.

Re: Dnepr MT-11 wheel offset?

Take this for what it's worth, which may be very little - but when I had to replace & relace a new rim (batch of defective rims, and/or spokes overtightened at factory- hairline cracks near spoke holes) on the pusher on my 2014 Ural, I don't remember any offset at all. Granted, different make, diffe...

Re: 2015 cTFuel pump running-on.

The pump runs all of the time, as the fuel pressure system pressurizes, a bypass regulator in the pump sends fuel back to the tank.

Re: Disc to Drum Conversion

My 1995 was all-drum. Stopping power was "vague" to put it very charitably - I could often decelerate more effectively with downshifting than with the brakes, and the brakes were not worn and were reasonably (but not ultra methodically) well adjusted.

Re: Hard starting '14.

Re: starting fluid, to each their own, but I have heard comment, not sure how well founded or certain it was, that it's actually especially rough on roller bearing cranks (like the Ural's), because of the smaller contact area presented by the rollers, along with the brittleness of the hardened rolle...

Counter-revolutionary alternative to Keihin EFI???

Hello to all - I have been scarce around here for a long time - career nutty-ness, my dad became ill and then passed away, battles with health insurance companies, and other things - still been out on the Ural whenever I have had a chance, though not as often as I like - hope to get out on it more t...

Very nice! Is the clock designed for use below the equator? :D
In the tradition of reverse engineering
It's also fitting in the sense that riding and maintaining a Ural has aspects (mostly in good ways) of going back in time

But know it is not going out when the tank is full.
Seems like it's stuck?
It's merely a new and improved failure mode! :foilhead:
