Re: A little mechanical help with a wrecked rig?

Gonna take some time via a hands on close inspection not internet photos to determine what's still useable so far as the expensive bits are concerned. :( Parting out wrecked bikes is a slow time consuming PITA on bikes with no real market demand and generally not worth much even when complete and ru...

Marty, congrats on the freshening-up! The XS' were great bikes. Essentially Bonevilles that didn't leak. :)
Sooo glad you didn't molest it into a cafe, bobber or silly street fighter wannabe. Yam got it right from day one.

Re: Occasional sputter

I don't think it's electrical, the last ride was significantly worse, completely lost power as if turning the ignition off. There was no way to rev motor to try to work through it, completely shut down. However as quickly as it died, I would coast with the clutch pulled in and restart it as I coast...

Re: Retired and 2019 cT Next!

Congrats! Curious, you gonna ride it to Anchorage or take the ferry from WA to Juneau via the inside passage? HIGHLY recommended! You can get a local ferry from Juneau to Skagway or Haines to hook you back up with the AK road system. Absolutely gorgeous boat trip and quick too. By ferry it's like 3 ...

Re: Need Ural Help In Austin TX

In the mean time to get you started check out Billy G's Ural web manual. http://myural.com/servicemanual.htm Normal Ural servicing and maint isn't hard or high tech or requires expensive exotic tools.

Re: Couldn't help myself...

Cool project! My constant fussing with project days are pretty much over due to economic and physical conditions...oh well such is life. But if I were to give another project the needed proper constant attention a flathead KMZ/IMZ/CJ outfit would be near the top of my list but I'm weird...I like fla...

Re: WHat would YOU pick?

For "my" needs/use, I'd go '19CT w/o a 2nd thought. Other than waiting till spring 2020 and get a left over 019GU for a 2020CT price?

Re: Toe heel shifter....

Anyone have advice on how to improve the shifting? Not interested in the “stick shifter” as have used one on a Harley I had, don’t think it would work when off road? Practice is the key. I've got a gimp leg/foot and yeah tagging the heal pedal is awkward at best. Upshifts require a firm deliberate ...

Re: Meet Vitaly and first curiosities

Welcome, and good morning. I'm not familiar with an M66 and I'm just starting on my first cup of coffee so that's my first excuse but I think(?) the pics you show is the access cover on top of the motor for the oil pump drive gear and shaft? What's under the spring? On Urals I've had(later 750's) th...

Re: What have I done?.....

Welcome. Yeah there is a learning curve going from 2 wheels to sidecars. I recommend getting a copy of David Hough's "Driving a Sidecar Outfit". Then practice practice.

Re: WHO HERE - USES MIKUNI CARBS on URAL 750 ?

Miks are good carbs. Used'em on other bikes but not Urals.I think Keihin CVK's are ideal for Ural motors especially if changing elevations often. If your heart is set on Miks I'd go same size in a "round slide" version not flat slides unless you get the mega buck models with an accelerator pump. Tun...

Nicely appointed Bullet. Great fun old school standard motorcycle. I really miss my 05 iron head G5 Deluxe.
