Hey Jaybird, thank you. Whereabouts are you? Currently assessing my options as a tub would be mated to my MG Stelvio just for the winter.

Re: Weight?

You could build a tilt table. They don’t take up as much room and they’re handy as a workbench when the rig is not on it. A low or mid rise auto lift is also a good choice for lifting your rig, they collapse flat so you can park a car over it when not in use, and in addition to lifting your sidecar ...

Re: Looking for fairing mount pictures

I've not had any trouble with the rubber filler piece bunching up or distorting in any way, I may have bent the mounting ears to better center the headlight. I've had the fairing off/on my GearUp many times for maintenance, but I usually don't disturb the upper chrome mounts, just disconnect the alu...

Re: Looking for fairing mount pictures

You may have to file or cut a notch in the fairing to clear the left turn signal bracket and allow the faring to sit correctly. :) To save someone else from unnecessarily cutting the metal fairing, I suggest that this can be avoided by simply moving the turn signal bracket from the front to the rea...

Re: Engine removal with deep sump

I’ve been into the clutch “many” times on my 2005 GearUp, I’ve never pulled the engine for that function, and I still use slotted screws if that’s what I have on hand. I don’t recall if it’s “impossible“ to get the engine out with the deep sump installed, but it certainly is easier with it off. Happ...

Re: Slack in gass handle/throttle- how to remove?

It sounds like you didn’t have the throttle all the way forward when you adjusted out the slack.
That’s all I’ve got right now.
It might be helpful if you share what carburetors you’re dealing with as well.

Good luck and happy trails,

Re: Adding an Electric Starter to MT-16

Ok. So I scratched my head and I rummaged around my shop and junkpiles. I had a couple of things on hand that were close to what I originally envisioned, and I came up with another, easy to fabricate solution. I experimented on an MT-16 with a side valve engine. What I had in mind was a leverage bar...
