Re: WTB 2 into 1 headers/exhaust system for late 750 carb motor

FWIW- You could buy just the front 2>1 header pipe from Raceway and then make the rest of it yourself. You have to decide which side you want the muffler to be on. In some areas, Harley stores have piles of brand-new mufflers, pipes, heatshield, clamps, etc in a junk pile. In my area, they are free...

Re: Final Drive Leak Repair - Any Tips?

Ok, I was just mainly wondering if the 'waterproof' aspect would have an negative effects in regards to it not w@$#ing away in the oil and being a problem later on. Only if'n you fill yer FD with water... :rotfl: (Sorry... couldn't resist) Lol Appreciate it guys, figured it would work fine b...

Re: Final Drive Leak Repair - Any Tips?

This may be an overthought question but I'm currently replacing the gaskets in my FD for my 2010 Gear-up and the only grease I have on hand is Bel-ray waterproof grease. Would that be ok to hold the 45 needle bearings in or will that cause issues with the FD oil??

Re: 7" Black Stone Guard Headlight Cover

Alternatively, you can do what I did and use safety wire. Inside the headlight housings are 'winged' clips that keep the headlight in place. I wrapped safety wire around the clips inside and ran them out the front between the headlight and housing. Then put the headlight guard in place and wrapped t...

Re: u-joint/drive shaft

almost positive the drive shaft joint is smaller and for the most part something that a dealer can supply only, the side car joint is available at most auto parts stores, check the forum parts list for numbers. From what I gather, yes the main drive shaft (attached the engine) is a dealer o...

Re: u-joint/drive shaft

Are both the U-joints on the rear shaft the same (at final drive and at sidecar wheel)? Would a 2010 Gear-Up use the same as posted above, from an auto parts store

Re: Keihin CVK32 help?

When my caps broke, I did just what Rivers said. Went to Autozone, bought some fuel hose and ran it over the top of the carb then back down between the carb and engine, then zip tied it in place. No issues and cheap to replace. Stock cap is $4.50 for 2 and quite easy to knock off/break.

Re: Wheel bolt torque and tire pressures

There is a spacer between the bearings in the wheels like pretty much every motorcycle hub out there (there are exceptions), so the automotivie process for tapered roller bearings is not required. You cannot over-tighten the bearings. Make it as tight as you can walking it up to the hole. Early mod...

Re: Dog-Co Pilot

seat.jpg I made a custom seat for my dog, the stock seat was too small for him to curl up on. It sits snug but isn't bolted down so I can easily swap it when I need to. Usually I'll curl a towel around it as well for added traction and because we go to the dog park where he gets wet/muddy. It was m...

Re: Spare wheel nut

The thread in the spare tire nut is 12 mm x 1.75 thread pitch. I have the spare tire nut in stock, black and polished. Thanks Terry, you were spot on with 12mm X 1.75. Bought a nut from Home Depot as a temporary solution. Had the same thing happen when I first got my bike, apparently the previous o...
