Re: 2013 Ural Tourist--$10,950

Thanks for the kind comments and also for posting the link to eBay. I wasn't sure how to put that in there. Thanks.

Re: UDF at the Harley Dealer

I recently went by the local Harley dealer and was spotted in the parking lot by one of the mechanics who came running out as I was getting ready to leave. He spent 15-20 minutes with all kinds of questions for me. He admitted that he was getting ready to buy a Ural himself and said that they had a ...

Thanks, Joe. I'll just keep it in my Ural tool pack as a spare.

Re: SOLVED: Help--One cylinder working, one FLOODING

Got it. Thanks Dwight. I've been reading here about some of the advantages of switching from a vacuum petcock to a manual one. A number of folks must do that for them to pack that little cap with the bike.

Re: Clean your petcock!

Right. I was just thinking that if any trash did get through the petcock an in-line filter might save it from going into the carb. I just put one on my bike. It might be a little bit of overkill but it gives me a little more peace of mind.

Re: Clean your petcock!

What in the world was in there? Did you also have an inline fuel filter?

Re: car alignment/dogleg/sidecar brake

My sidecar is a little higher in front than in the rear, maybe 1 inch +/- as I recall. Also, this could be due to the dog leg in the front being just slightly more angled up than the one in the rear.

Re: car alignment/dogleg/sidecar brake

nbsdave, I don't know about your brakes, but I just finished setting my toe-in and it is similar to yours. The front dogleg has a noticeably greater gap between the female (sidecar) end and the face of the dogleg than what you find in the rear.

SOLVED: Re: Dog Leg Pulled Out While Riding

I think we've taken care of the problem. My son and I re-set everything: car level, toe-in, and lean-out. Then we wrench tightened everything and measured all again. Same measurements. Then my son took a cheater bar to the wrench and got serious with it. Afterwards he said that these aren't the same...

Re: Dog Leg Pulled Out While Riding

The back one did not pull out. I think that as the front one was pulling out, the back one was just pivoting on the ball. And, I'm certain that all of the bolts were tight, really tight. And we made certain that both insert pipes went in straight rather than at a slight angle. However, the next time...

Re: Dog Leg Pulled Out While Riding

Cdscoot, I'm not sure of the distance between the valve cover and the car, but it's not much more than that, if any more. We took the valve cover off to adjust the valves and there was just enough room. If you look at the insert pipe on the dog leg, you can see a white line. This line was inside of ...

Re: Dog Leg Pulled Out While Riding

We never removed the cotter pin. We just loosened the bolt holding the ball jaws tight so that we could rotate the dog leg as much as needed and then tightened it back up. It will be in the second picture. The first picture shows where the sleeve came off. Ural Dog Leg Separation.JPG [img] Ural%20Do...
