Re: 2012 Ural M70 - They've Almost Got It Right

Retros only came with telescopic front suspension so they can also be ridden as Solos. I converted the Black one to leading link as I liked the way the Leading link handled on my Patrol. I really liked it on the Retro too. Had I known I'd be getting a newer Retro I would have retained the leading li...

Re: 2012 Ural M70 - They've Almost Got It Right

I've owned 18 different Urals in the past 20 yrs. Two of them were Retro's and they are my favorite.

Re: Question for Van or anyone who went solo .

You made me have to think way back to recall the first time a rode a BMW Airhead. It was 1972 and yes coming from a Honda 350 to my first ride on opposed twin it was a new feeling and learning experience. Done it so long now I don't know any better.

Re: Question for Van or anyone who went solo .

I have a Retro which I occasionally ride as a solo and a BMW which I take the sidecar off when taking it in for service I can't perform. I usually plan ahead and only ride a sidecar rig as a solo when I've just put a new tire on the rear. Sidecar rigs wear the tires off flat and make them handle rea...

Re: Tank Lock on 06 Gear up?

Ivan Rider - Good idea on the lock nut - is that an actual tractor seat on your tan Ural???? Interesting - how does it ride??? LBM Yep it's a John Deer Tractor seat. It was given to me as a joke so I installed it just because. It turned out to be the most comfortable seat I've ever had on a Ural. T...

Re: My Ural Sidecar Saved My Life

Got my BMW with Ural sidecar rig back from the shop on Saturday 6-17-17. They had it for 34 days to replace: Rear wheel, Rear fender, Rear tail and turn signal lights, Rear brake caliper and line. The bill came to $4,658.17. It didn't feel right on the ride home so I'm going to have re-adjust the si...

For the allen head bolt put a lock nut on the inside so it don't fall off when you open the door.

Re: Fuel switch posistions/Fuel shut off switch/Fuel Filter

The 2002 Urals didn't have the vacuum fuel valves. The one you speak of is a manual one just like the Yamaha one I use to replace the Vacuum petcocks. That is what I understand but my Kp33 threads on to the vertical threaded tank outlet with the double threaded nut, not the 2 screw arrangement like...
