Re: One of our own, Vic Radin, passed away.

I met Vic in person twice by complete chance. Once several years ago at a Dunkin Donuts in Evanston IL (I was riding my Gear Up that day). We chatted for quite a while. I then saw him again at a Gyro joint in Skokie IL sometime in the last 5 months or so. He was a very nice guy. Sad to hear about hi...

Re: anyone around Chicago?

Howdy Rench I am in Morton Grove (Edens and Dempster). I could also meet with you. All of my riding experience is Ural related other than a Motorcycle course several years back to get the license and a mini bike as a kid. I am a pretty confident rider though it took time at first. I don't care for s...

Re: CL Find-1999 Ural Deco $3200

That's a different color Deco then I've ever seen before. It also has a much thicker Bench seat. Too bad it's a 650. Nice rig! I agree the color is one i have not seen. The bench seat looks like the one on my 98 deco, only mine is white. I will say it is a seriously comfortable seat. Especially com...

Captain Phillips the movie...

Wow. That article makes you wonder for sure.

We saw the movie last week and really liked it. My wife read the Wikipedia on the way home and was looking at reading the memoir. I just sent her This article.

Flying the chair . . .

Monitor your spokes very closely. You will find yourself tightening them more often when flying the chair. No biggie if you stay on top of it. If you don't you will trash your rim and a tire IMHO.

YMMV

Re: Front fork Scabbard or Case

The scabbard in the pic is mine. It's a reproduction. If I recal I got it from ......http://www.atlantacutlery.com/ In my case it's for shown. That's just a wooden rifle stock inside it. I used heavy duty cable ties to attach it. :foilhead: I did always want to do something similar to an old Harley ...

Re: Back in the saddle.... Finally!

Jim! Great to hear. I have moved to Morton Grove but still have my house in Romeoville (hopefully not for to much longer). I might be out over the weekend working on the house. If so I may stop for coffee. Would be cool to see you. Dave moved to NC but came back a couple weeks ago. He is curently Ur...
