Look at these. A bit expensive, but good quality...

Re: Carb idle screw adjustment

Do you know that idle speed is set with the throttle stop screw? Sounds like you are fiddling with the idle mixture adjustment.

Re: Denso adapter oil seal?

There was never a seal in there when new. I always wondered what was going to happen without a seal in there. There are two bearings in there so it should be possible to replace the rear one with a sealed bearing.

They will work with anything post 98.5. You should be fine.

Chris, Look inside of the alternator for 'peanut' fragments. I had to extract many of them from it, when it was shipped to me.

Re: Carb settings for 1000' above sea level

My 650 had the following jets in it:

Main 118
Pilot 38
Aux 65
Needle shims 2

I was in central WV, and never had any problems with mountains. These may not be 'stock' but they worked well.

Re: BMW R75 parts on a Retro?

Be aware that Retro frames are longer than the other models. If you get something with fixed mounting points, you may be sorry. Measure first!

Re: Carb question- Keihin diaphram and slides

Be aware that your 650 doesn't use the same jets that the 750s use. Be sure to specify that you have a 650 when buying jets.

Re: Louder exhaust for Ural Retro?

Not exactly. I also got a set of custom headers from Raceway in black w/o the crossover. Just never put them on. The 'cat' pipe is a longer one designed to fit with the new pipes. I had to shim them onto the stock headers. I felt like I needed the additional length. I don't know what they would send...

The OP has a 650 with 28mm VMs. Doubt he would be looking for much in the way of performance.

Re: Mikuni 28mm flat slide smoothbore carbs

You already have the best possible carbs for your rig. Flat slides do not mix well at less than WOT, causing poor running conditions at various points. The flat slides cause a turbulence behind them that disturbs the mixture flow. The round slide carbs open smoother and flow much better at partial t...

Re: Mikuni Carburetors (Update)

The 650 jetting is <not> the same as the 750 jetting. So don't try to re-jet using 750 posts.
