Re: iKon Suspension for Urals

I did that evening. He might be swamped with work. I'll ping him again. He might be waiting to hear from Ikon in Oz. I have not heard much about how C19 is doing down there. That could be a factor again. I've been to the factory; it's only about 5km from the NSW/Victorian border, which has just bee...

Replaced the speedo with a fleabay special I hope is a decent solution for the OEM crap unit. This one's GPS and fit right into the dash.
Same one I have, but I left out the spacer under the speedo so it sits down on the dash.

Had a thought and access to a 3D printer....

The holes are pre-existing, so no drilling. :D

Used some tape to help mark the holes on the hinges.
I do like those!

Re: roscoau airbox

Was there any science to the amount and diameter of the intake holes you drilled in the main tube? In other words, was intake tuning a factor in its design? I'd like to say there was... but no. I was flying by the seat of my pants. 6 x 30mm holes was what I guestimated was about the area I had befo...

Nice, real nice. Care to share the 'finer points' of its construction?
It's all here... look up Leftka's handiwork for several airbox ideas.

Is that the Guzzi filter element?

Dontcha love working with PVC pipe?
Yes, the Guzzi filter. It's fun working with PVC, and if you stuff up it's only a couple of dollars and you're ready to try again.

roscoau airbox

This is mostly the Leftka airbox with a couple of twists so I won't describe it all. The twists are: 1. Using Ural branch pipes where he used CEET tubing. CEET was made necessary because the starter motor prevented the airbox from being low enough for the Ural branch pipe to reach. HOWEVER, if you h...

I agree there. I've ridden a couple rigs with automotive dampers, and find them way too stiff.
Agreed, they are VERY stiff. Much more so than needed, but you work with what's available and I'm happy with Sean's damper.

The tubes are ready and I've ordered the plates from the water jet guys. A week or so and I'll be done. I'm making a batch of 10 of the originals and have enough tube left for three or four of the new style.
I'm interested in one of these if you will have enough.
