Re: 2014 Final Drive Issue

A couple years ago I had my final drive rebuilt because the external drive splines that slip inside the internal splines inside the wheel hub had worn down to pointy saw teeth. (You can see a picture of this in the final drive section of Billy G's "Unofficial Ural Service Manual".) My rig had accumu...

Re: Dumbest thing you ever bought for your Ural and the Smar

Smartest purchases: Gossi Needles; full set of Rich Maund upholstery; factory aluminum wheels; Buchanon stainless spokes and nipples; Nelson Rigg GWR 1000 Rack Packs - great quality, two of them (his and hers) fit the factory luggage rack over the spare tire perfectly, like they were made specifical...

Re: Report: Fryeburge Traffen

Most enjoyable RR  Thank you for posting! Not sure of your intent, but if you meant to use the German word for "meeting" (as in gathering) in the title of your post, I believe the word is Treffen.

Best Regards,
Doug

Re: Thunderburg 2013 Miamisburg, Ohio

Thank you and Dave's one of favorite folk also. :D I've got to get down your way one of these days I spent some of my formative years a few miles up river from you in New Matamoras. Long time back family moved in 63. I'd like to ride some of the back roads in Washington and surrounding counties. Ri...

Re: CRAP Information May 3-5, 2013

Hey friends! Wasn't 100% sure until now but I regret I will not be able to join you all for CRAP this year. I promised my daughter, #1 hack monkey and CRAP/BURP veteran, that I would ride out to visit her in Arkansas this year; we locked in the last week of May and I just can't swing the time off wo...

Re: Bike Transportation

Yeah Bogdan, I agree. Go direct to him! And he wouldn't have to pay the middleman, as I am sure uship gets a finder fee. (And Bogdan's posts) I talked to him about that. But he said U-Ship and the other internet shipping portals are the tools he uses to efficiently book multiple shipments along a r...

Re: Bike Transportation

uship is an option. people bid on your shipment. like eBay. with feedback on the shippers. could be a guy with a pickup and a trailer but if the feedback is good you could have the bike in a week not two months. +1 I used Uship in December to ship a brand new Goldwing ABS from a dealer in College S...

Re: yet another magazine story

What kind of "ore" does it come with, iron ore, gold ore????? Yeah, I saw that too. I am pretty obsessive about my work (like I am about keeping my Ural clean :D ) and I can't understand how someone getting paid to write isn't more careful or doesn't take the extra minute or two to proof-read...

Re: gossie needle ? vs JRC?

The JRC needle is not designed for the factory Keihin Carbs, it is for JRC carbs and I can't imagine that it would work in the Keihins :? . Gossie needles are designed and manufactured to drop into the factory Keihin carbs; 20 minute job and your rig runs awesome. I have had mine in for a several ye...
