Re: Tragedy struck our Ural family today

Donation sent. I lost my son at age 19 on his motorcycle, and I remember the outpouring of support here on SS I remember the horrible crash that eventually led to the loss of Margo Thomas, and again, the way this community stepped in to support Dave. This is a third tragedy (I bet I've forgotten oth...

Re: Squeak and a dead fish

When you slide the wheel onto the axle, there is a flat spacer washer that holds the inner side of the hub at the proper location. That spacer washer is "consumable", and when it wears thin, the inner side of the hub will touch the brake backing plate. Your 2008 is about the age at which mine did so...

Re: ural trailer

I built a tow-behind pop-up tent trailer for my Ural on the same NT frame Huey describes. Mine is the 40 x 48 platform with 12" wheels. I have dragged that thing several thousand miles already with no regrets. It is no longer getting much use, as I bought a used motorhome to tow my rig so I can take...

Re: Big wife in the sidecar?

One easy answer to the exit challenge is for the driver to stand in front of the nose and offer two hands to the monkey. The monkey stands straight up, and can then easily step out using the sidecar step. Graceful and Très Gallant!

Re: SOUR 2015.....the official (sort of) thread

Well, I am serving as advance guard - here and watching over the campground. Spot # 5, Blue/cream TREK MH. Had a nice chat with 54vintage who came by to see how the group sites were looking. Really sorry to hear how many familiar faces I'll NOT be seeing - Siskiyou, Runkd, IvanRider, Ponch, but exci...

Re: Fuel Transfer Devices WITHOUT the drama

And my reply to thumper05fistsc: I priced the units to break even. Price of machined body was $22, and cost of fittings added up to $5. That adds up to $27 leaving $6 for shipping. Shipping to Continental US was $5.75. That left me a Quarter each for profit. Whoo Hoo! You just can't figure in an amo...

Re: Fuel Transfer Devices WITHOUT the drama

To All: All devices were shipped today via USPS Priority Mail. Tracking info was PMd to each individual. There is an instruction sheet included with each device, but just to make it easy to find, I'll repeat it here. Buy 7' 3" of 5/16" gasoline tolerant clear PVC tubing, cut off 15" from the correct...

Re: Fuel Transfer Devices WITHOUT the drama

Nybigdog82162,

It is yours. I am tired of chasing responses. I last heard from DaFoole on March 6, expressing interest.

Look for PM with further instructions.

Re: Fuel Transfer Devices WITHOUT the drama

One final glitch - ONE of the units is missing threads for a barbed hose adapter, and I don't have that tap (1/8" NPT), so back to Charlie for a fix. He missed it during production and inspection, and I missed it until I tried to thread in the adapter! IMG_0776.jpg Here are the units after installin...
