Re: Late September Ural Ride Tallahassee Florida

Just wondering if anyone would be interested in a weekend get together ride in late September, I live west of Tallahassee Florida and this is my backyard. The Apalachicola National Forest is the largest U.S. National Forest in the state of Florida. It encompasses 632,890 acres (988.89 sq mi; 2,561....

Re: 2019+ Top End Upgrade

F.I. and oiling is sounding mucho more affordable.

Actually thinking about selling the '15 anyway. The '20 is doing everything, just the way I want it to.

Anyone comes up with $11k, and the '15 will be gone.

 No pun intended but it can breathe.
My Buddy Pig Al refers to combustion engines as air pumps. The more air it moves with less restriction, the better.
Pig Al is correct!

Biketoberfest 2020

Biketoberfest 2020 is scheduled for Oct 15>18. My time share at Oceans East Resort, Ormond, FL is week 41, Oct 10th>17th. I have been renting this out every year, since Cathy passed in 2010.... Then tried to give it away, first to my daughter, then several friends... NO MORE.... I'm going this year....

Re: So i bought a Ural.

FYI, its a firm contoured seat for active riding, it isn't a soft bucket seat for passive riding like the police solo. Also, the springs are very firm so they act more like shock absorbers than the traditional soft spring seats where the seat bounces up and down. Yes I bought one and found it too h...

Re: So i bought a Ural.

Here is a picture of the seat. Maybe it is just a deluxe solo and they are inflating its greatness :) Either way I think I will be happy. It's not a great picture, I think he was showing me the springs https://i.imgur.com/JaUsVG6.jpg This is a type seat I'm looking for. A solo, spring pivot. But wh...

Re: Rode the '15...

My notes from Sergei are 0.10mm intake, 0.15mm exhaust. So that’s how I set them. That's about: .004" intake .006" exhaust If memory serves me right...same specs I always used on my ait cooled Be a over the years, on a 3K mile check and service routine. VW recommended 6K intervals, but I preferred ...

Re: 2019+ Top End Upgrade

Yes I will go back with the black parts. I’m interested to know the cost of the other upgrades. I know the EFI kit is $2,299 on AF1. It’s something I need to budget for as well. I need to peddle a couple of these other bikes to raise some extra play money. To do the whole thing, EFI kit, top end, o...

Re: "Mistake" - It's outta here.

The reality check has been delivered and it the "mistake" is going away. Owner took the tank with him to see if anyone would clean and line it. He doesn't want to do it himself. He and his grandson will be back with the trailer to pick the bike up. FWIW 1 - The carbs are most probably shot. Even af...

Re: 2019+ Top End Upgrade

Sounds like a plan Kliff. Maybe we can meet up here soon. Got Lisa at Blue Moon contacting IMWA for all the mechanical parts I'll need to do the conversion. Will need to let the bank account recoup for a month, before ordering the F.I. I'm ordering all natural aluminum pieces for mine. Saw some sem...

Re: 2019+ Top End Upgrade

The folks at IMWA will know exactly whats needed down to the last washer, and gasket to upgrade the top end, oil pump, and breather. If a dealer isn't sure, they could request it, no real need for a formal "kit". The parts list on my bill for the full 2020 upgrade was 2 full pages long. I'll be cal...
