Re: Ural and COSTCO

Just a sidebar note in January 1999 Cycle World magazine announcing the program. Cycle World Magazine Vol. 38 pp.26 A google search turned up some anecdotal evidence, some blog posts mentioning folks seeing Urals at COSTCO as far back as 1996. The New York Times stated in a 2011 article that the fir...

Hopefully no one's insurance company can get a positive identity on any of the blindfolded riding competitions :)
Now you’re making want to go back and black bar everyone’s eyes Delta style. Change this post to REDACTED - circa 2019!!

Re: 2019 HUG Rally - Dec 7th 2019 - Holopaw Florida

Between dodging Spaghettios and squeezing in bath time I got some photos edited.

I'm dropping web size images here, if you want any in full resolution just shoot me a PM.

I had a blast at HUG!

(Image limit is 10 on uploads, so this will be a few posts)

Re: 2019 HUG Rally - Dec 7th 2019 - Holopaw Florida

Those pics turned out good...... even if you don’t have one of my run at the blindfold course  I just grabbed a few off the SD card and bashed them through the phone's editing app. I got at least one of every blindfold run and alllllmost every bike that was there Saturday. If I have time I'll ...

Re: 2019 HUG Rally - Dec 7th 2019 - Holopaw Florida

I’m not a very social person but everyone was so friendly and welcoming I couldn’t help but get drawn into every conversation. I had planned on taking a ton of photos and videos but ended up just relaxing and enjoying time spent with good people. Very glad I could make it this year. I have more phot...

Re: New Bike - Clutch and Throttle concerns

Just a quick update. At 450 miles now. Clutch still occasionally whacks, but is not as prevalent as it used to be. I talked to Kenny at HUG last weekend, he said some of the new style clutches take their sweet a$$ time to break in and the best thing I could do was get the bike in the dirt and work t...

Re: 2019 HUG Rally - Dec 7th 2019 - Holopaw Florida

I'm a first timer!

I'll be there Saturday morning, probably ride home at night.

What time does everyone start heading home Sunday? I might sneak back up Sunday morning.

Re: New Bike - Clutch and Throttle concerns

That's either a bent plate or lots of rust. I'm hoping rust and therefore lots of use will rub it off. I base that on that it's been standing a long time. I had some rusty plates on the KLR I've got. It had spent 8 years sitting under a tarp in someones yard by the time I bought it. I freed them up...

Re: New Bike - Clutch and Throttle concerns

Given the good rep that the Holopaw dealer has, I'd be surprised if the rig was sold (a) without the offer of having the Off Road FI map downloaded prior to delivery, and (b) with an irregular and definitely troubling clutch function (the WHACK WHACK WHACK that you mention.) Not normal, full stop. ...

Re: New Bike - Clutch and Throttle concerns

No those 3 things are not normal behaviour. There was a note posted before – Technical Bulletin_S012015_EFI High Hanging Idle.pdf Thanks for that link. I'll bring that up when I go in for service. The clutch is now the main thing that's tickling me. If I adjust it to the point where the lever on th...

Re: New Bike - Clutch and Throttle concerns

If you have 15-20 degrees of free play, that's way too much. The cable coming from the splitter can work loose with that much slack and suddenly you'll be in 1/4 throttle zone when trying to shutdown. May be your problem. Sounds like your cables are poorly adjusted, EFI isn't calibrated, and someth...
