Using the SEARCH function you’d have seen there already is a two page thread on this.
Did that first, didn't come up. But I see it now. :(

Re: How Much Oil Should be under the Head Covers?

Back in the day Ski told me the story of how he found the cylinder gaskets backwards and the drain hole was blocked. He would check cylinders with a long rat tail file or something thin. Can you confirm? I did run a wire cut from a coat hanger through the left head drain hole. Everything looks good...

Re: How Much Oil Should be under the Head Covers?

What does "lean out adjusted to a maximum value" mean? Three degrees? Four? That would be a huge amount of lean out, and would certainly put a lot more oil in the left valve cover. (I would ask "Why so much lean out?", but if it works for you . . .) I just measured it at 2 degrees. This bike (as do...

Re: How Much Oil Should be under the Head Covers?

The half cup may not be correct. It is a guesstimate, but without a quantitative measurement, consider it to mean "a whole lot more than the other side, by a substantial margin". Thanks for all the ideas. I think I see what is happening. The bike does have the lean out adjusted to a maximum value, s...

How Much Oil Should be under the Head Covers?

The bike started running a bit rough, and I've noticed differences in head temperature when starting up (by touch, the right side is definitely warming up faster at stationary idle). I pulled the head covers off to check valve clearances and the right side was too large. The bike runs smoother now, ...

Re: Transmission question

Apply firm foot pressure, especially when down shifting. Down shifting absent mindedly is where I fall into the false neutral.

Throttle Differential Adjustment

Using a Twinmax I am balanced at idle but unbalance as I roll off idle and at speed.

How does one make a differential throttle adjustment? I see the single adjustment at the throttle but don't see anything at the Y.

Re: How do YOU kick start your Ural?

The suggestion to stand on a foot peg made all the difference in the world. At 5'8", kicking from the ground causes my foot to point upwards and roll off the kick start level. The extra height allows me to point my toes down and drive the kick start to the bottom.

Any Ideas on this Starter Issue?

I've been trying to troubleshoot this starter issue and was hoping there were some ideas out there. Each time I press the electric starter I get a satisfying "clunk" from the solenoid moving, but the starter doesn't always turn. It's as if something is binding or keeping the solenoid from making its...

Re: Check Engine Light On with No Diagnostics Blink Code

I think I finally figured it out. There is a small rubber boot at the end of the right throttle cable that became detached. It slid down against the butterfly valve and effectively unbalanced the throttle bodies at low throttle settings. After putting it back into place, the light turned off by itse...

Re: Check Engine Light On with No Diagnostics Blink Code

Might have an answer. See the 10 minute mark on this Heindl Motorcycle video. When trouble shooting a 2019, apparently the blink codes don't work. :o

Check Engine Light On with No Diagnostics Blink Code

Hello all! New to the forum and motorcycles in general. Purchased a new 2019 Gear Up from Gene in Holopaw not long ago and ran into a weird situation. After riding around a bit yesterday the check engine light came on. I put the ECO into blink mode per the manual, but there are no blink codes to sho...
