Re: Texas to Tuktoyaktuk

So it's been 8 years since our ride up to Inuvik on the Dempster Highway. In those 8 years, Kristen and I have frequently talked about finally getting the time to ride the final 120kms from Inuvik to Tuktoyaktuk on the ice road. It has been a life goal that I desperately wanted to accomplish. Then, ...

Re: Fall TURD 2016 - The Bunkie Boucherie Sept.29--Oct.2nd

Kristen and I are riding to the Overland Expo in Asheville this year, but really want to try and make this too if possible. Do i need to give a firm "yes" or can we just show up if we can?

Re: Tragedy struck our Ural family today

I am heartbroken by this news but so encouraged by this community's desire to reach out and help this brother. God be with Daniel, his family and with Sean and Holly - I have carried the weight of others' tragedy before and it is a heavy burden.

So proud of Soviet Steeds...

Re: Planning a trip to the tip of South America

Hey Subsnowden - In 2013, my wife and I rode 20,000 miles through South America. We shipped our rig from Texas to Santiago, Chile - rode South to Ushuaia, then back North through Argentina, Chile, Peru, Bolivia, Ecuador and ended in Colombia. We learned A LOT as we went along and plan to head back t...

Comparison of a 2007 Gear Up to a 2015 Ranger

Comparison of a 2007 Gear Up to a 2015 Ranger http://i584.photobucket.com/albums/ss285/mightymatt43/mightymatt43001/1_zpsxzvzpuht.jpg In so many ways, the 2015 Ural Ranger is identical to our Gear Up from 2007. It has the all familiar soft whir and tick of the engine. Shifting through the gears mus...

The main problem we have on our trip here is we just don't have enough time. We're not spending much time at all on the highway but have done a few stints to make up time. We've already decided that we're going to have to come back...[/color] Ok, I just realised you only have a month? You're barely...

Nice Thanks :) :moto: Ok, so your first mistake was to go north, otherwise you'd be at my place my now. You've gone past my old house but that doesn't matter since I'm not there. Have you made contact with the Aussie Ural world? Start here: http://uralsinaustralia.freeforums.net and you'll never be...

Bugs On My Face goes to Oz

Ladies and Gents - After a bit of a hiatus, Kristen and I are back to the world of Soviet Steeds. Don't remember who we are? We rode a 2007 Ural Gear Up to the Arctic Circle in 2009. http://i584.photobucket.com/albums/ss285/mightymatt43/mightymatt43001/1234_zpstrahi2kx.jpg In 2012, we spent a year a...
